@Granny Whoops I forgot – your sons have very good taste (if somewhat focused) 😉 (Although I have not played Mythic Battles – it does live on my mental ‘playlist’ and is on The Boy’s Amazon wishlist so he (we 😉 ho ho ho) almost got it for the holidays but had to trump it for Firefly and Eldritch Horror.
Alas our Pathfinder ACG is destined to play out like Pathfinder RPG :(. We got it around October and formed our ‘party’ of gaming friends. Much like an RPG group everyone was into it and we were churning through a scenario or two a week. (After a reboot of the initial 3 adventures because we had been playing it wrong 😛 *sad clown oboe*) The came the holidays and crazy snows and general life and we have been limping through Skinsaw once every two or three weeks. I WANT THOSE SPECIALTY CLASSES!!! 🙁
It is a game I love and wish I got to play more, but it is so hard to get all your Guildies in a row sometimes. I also can’t wait for the new Alt-Base! Two words: Swashbucklers and Gunslingers!!!!!!!
X-Wing is on the agenda for this weekend after working all last weekend. I’m not sure if I’ll try out the Imperial Aces or not because I have a few few squads to try out.
Sunday – Well, the X-Wing fell through when no one else showed up at the shop where I play. Once I got home, I tried out Dawn of the Zeds. A decent game. I like that there is a tutorial game to play through, which I will probably play through once more.
I have a session of Pathfinder to look forward to this evening, but other than that I have no concrete gaming plans for the weekend. It will be a “wait and see” scenario for me, I think.
Trying out Space Cadets: Dice Duel with two full teams as well as playing a couple of games of a nice little card game called Jazz. Might try out a new scenario in Robinson Crusoe as well.
Got to play the new expansion for Boss Monster, Tools of a Hero Kind. Really liked that one. Also got to try out Paint the Town Red, the newest mini-expansion for Legendary. It’s a good expansion. The “Wall Crawl” rule, which is on most of the heroes in the expansion, means you buy them to your deck, not discard pile, which creates some interesting combos.
A buddy of mine is going to have his annual birthday bash, at which many boardgames and video games will be played. I hope to get a miniature or two painted this weekend as well.
There’s a session of Dark Darker Darkest that’s been set up on our dining room table for a week now. I didn’t get the chance to play last weekend and couldn’t bear tearing it down. Props to the lady of the house for her patience!
@Granny and @HaiKulture – My weekend too is at the postmaster general’s mercy. I’m waiting for a copy of Battle for Souls that was part of my Draco Magi pledge, and I’ve run out of gameplay videos!
Other than that we’ll play some of the Draco Magi prototype and probably some friends over for Saturday morning Wrath of Ashardalon. I should find those old D&D cartoons for background. Haha!
We’re getting together with some friends to play Arkham Horror with the Kingsport Horror Expansion and I was able to snag a copy of the Coup KS edition off eBay, so we’ll probably drop in a quick game of that as well.
Two of The Lady’s pals are coming over for a dinner party tomorrow evening and want to learn a few board games outside of the mainstream. I’ve got Ingenious, Small World, and of course Settlers of Catan lined up for them.
Really wanting to pick up a copy of Tsuro of the Sea and add that to my New Gamer Introduction repertoire.
@HaiKulture Yes… ACG… we are only on the Rise base set and played a couple scenarios, but my oldest son (12) is already addicted to it. My youngest son is 7, and he’s addicted to SotM… so these two games will be seared into my soul for the next 5-10 years. They don’t seem to comprehend the concepts of “variety” or “pacing one’s self.” Nope, it’s all-or-nothing in my house. The youngest has cut up cards and created his own villains… Super Stealer and Cape Evil. My oldest is making Origami finger puppets of Zombies and Goblin Raiders. So, yes, I am in need of chamomile tea and Vicodin.
My Myth order will not be coming until next week… so I will not be partaking for a few more days. It seems my state was last on the list. Not cool Mercs! Not cool.
Note: My oldest son was addicted to Summoner Wars for several years, and is now wanting to play Pathfinder AND Mythic Battles, so that is some improvement. He’ll also play SotM, as he loves superheroes. Of course, he reads the online comic book and knows every single backstory of which he explains in excruciating detail… and it’s not even his favorite game. The youngest has taken up that mantle.
@HaiKulture I’m still waiting on my copy. If it does come in the next couple days… it will be an ALL MYTH, ALL THE TIME weekend.
If not, I guess I’ll play Russian Railroads, SotM: Vengeance, Bang: The Dice Game, Space Cadets: Dice Duel, Small World (Game Group playing this), and maybe Pathfinder. My son wants to play Mythic Battles… so we might get a game or two of that in as well.

Hopefully I’ll play my PnP of Pay Dirt.
You can get yours, with the final art, on kickstarter.

@Granny Pathfinder ACG? What Adventure Pack are you on? 🙂
We’ll see how this afternoon goes as I crouch like a gargoyle on the stoop waiting to pounce on passing postal and parcel purveyors
