If you are into video games, this has been a fun week getting distracted by all that has been shown at E3 (except where was The Last Guardian?). But now it’s the weekend and time to pull out the board games!
It just so happened that this past June 8th was my bday! I got to go out on a treasure hunt, set up by my partner! It was the most romantic and sweet and wonderful thing anyone has ever done for me! We were able to have fun with the whole family and I had the most magical bday ever!
Had lots of family over this weekend, so we ran a lot of Bang!: Dodge City since it accommodated 8 players and plays pretty quickly. Using Vera Custer’s cloning ability to clone Doc Holliday’s ‘discard 2 cards to Bang! another player’ ability, then playing Wells Fargo to draw 3, one of which was a Stage Coach, to draw 2, one of which was a wells fargo to draw 3 more, then discarding my whole hand to pump the sheriff full of lead for all 5 wounds worth of damage was easily the highlight of my gaming weekend. 😉
Friday night we played Eclipse, Lords of Waterdeep and Fzzzt!
Saturday we played 1812: The Invasion of Canada, Lords of Waterdeep, A Fist Full of Penguins x2, Mission red Planet (knocking a game off my owned but unplayed list), Castles of Burgundy, vanilla Race for the Galaxy, and dungeon Petz.
Hooray! I finally got some gaming in this weekend. I managed to play 2 new games to me as well, so that’s definitely a win. Dominion and Castle Panic, and also a quick game of Coloretto too.
Friday night-Heroclix; Saturday- Plan for Kairo, Kingdom Builders(Nomads, Ascension: Well of Souls, Ora & Labora, Lords of Waterdeep. Sunday-Heroclix and Lords of Waterdeep, and Return to Walnut Grove.
We started with Mage Knight last night, which was awesome as always. My boyfriend’s daughter is with us today, so it’s Dungeon Run, King of Tokyo and we tried Legend of Drizzt with her (she was a little overwhelmed but handled it like a champ! :)) We’ll probably finish off with Red November and Pandemic (one of her favourites). Tomorrow we’ll most likely play Core Worlds and possibly squeeze in some Dungeon Lords 😀
Well so far we did get to play one each of Lords of Waterdeep, Risk: Legacy, and Eclipse in a marathon session. We also started making characters for a GURPS Space Pirates mash-up… should be fun. We’re getting inspiration from Treasure Planet of all things. I thoroughly enjoyed LoW and will play it again this weekend. Eclipse is great (even though I got pinned in without enough money to win), and Risk:Legacy is always a hoot (even though I didn’t win this round either). I did win LoW by one point. Great games!
Began with a little Dominion: Intrigue. Hopefully some prototypes and maybe I’ll get around to reading the Vinhos rules. I’d kill to finally play Wizard Kings…
We have some friends coming over to play games this weekend, which should add some variations. Much of the gaming I would expect to be kid friendly (Castle Panic, Loot, Coloretto, Ave Caesar, etc.) but hopefully we’ll get some stuff in the evening that the daughter wouldn’t get on so well with (I’m hoping for a bit of Dominion and Munchkin).
I definitely have a session of Pathfinder on the table, but beyond that I am uncertain as to what games may be played this weekend. I really am hoping to get something more in, though.
Going to try out the new Adventure packs I snagged this week for Lord of the Rings LCG. Probably play some Settlers too, it’s a cram packed weekend of family stuffs, so gaming time may or may not be readily available. 😛
Going over to some friends’ house tomorrow and planning to play some light gateway games. Hope to get in games of Ticket to Ride, Guillotine, Pandemic, and maybe Last Night on Earth if they’re feelling adventurous.

Just goes to show youu, best laid plans, I ended teaching Lords of Waterdeep for several games on Saturday.
Not technically weekend, but I played Fresco today. With expansions. Only the second time I play it. It was very interesting with the expansions.

Good mix of old with a few new.
Scallywags! I won the first copy available in a tourney at Origins. Got the designer, Chevee Dodd, to sign it. My kids love the game.
I’ll sneak in some 7 Wonders and Carcassonne too.
Castle “Mild Concern” as it turned out, eh Vee?

I forget sometimes how much I enjoy it.

A friend of mine will be teaching me Horus Heresy, and I am going to try to get into a game or two of Summoner Wars afterwards.

Probably nothing, unfortunately. However last night I got my wife to try Blokus, and she dug it!

Some Touch of Evil, perhaps some Nature of the Beast or if everyone is really down for it some Star Wars d20.
