We’ll be playing Star Wars: The Card Game this weekend, along with it’s first expansion pack. If you haven’t seen it yet, Team Covenant has put together a great walkthrough video of the game, along with explaining some of the common questions for the game. You can see it on the Star Wars: The Card Game page under the videos tab.
What are you playing this weekend?
I will play Zombicide for 1st time, to learn basic rules and some details !!
Mtg.
Lets see if I can remember them all from our Sunday Epic monthly gaming day. King of Tokyo, learned Legendary, played Galaxy Trucker intro game(again!), Dixit, Avalon(they twisted my arm), and Battlestar Galactica where a cylon recruited me to be a cylon too and we kicked butt! We destroyed Galactica!
I had a heap more gaming than I expected, thanks to a rainy Saturday afternoon and a visit from a friend on Sunday. We got through Augustus, Coloretto, the Crazy Creatures of Dr Doom, several plays each of Castle Keep and Gubs, Doctor Who the Card Game and, at long last, my first ever game of 7 Wonders (gutted we didn’t have the time for another play!). No Netrunner, unfortunately, but I reckon we did very well.
My game time got cut short. Only managed one game of Carcassonne with Inns & Cathedrals, 1 game of 6 Nimmit (Slide 5), 1/2 a game of Singapore, and 1/2 a game of “live” Pitchcar using soccer balls on an indoor soccer field.
Played Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Saturday.
So this weekend wasn’t a complete disaster in terms of gaming experiences after all. My group and I played a lot of great games and had some great experiences. We played a 4 player game of Run Age, Survive Escape from Atlantis, Pandemic, Reiner Knizia’s Kingdoms (my first time playing it, and loved it!)
Guild Hall, Terra Mystica, Qin, Feudality, Battleline, and Lord of the Rings (Card Game).
BTW We just played Space Team on the iPad for the first time. It’s sort of like Space Cadets on a tablet… but even more chaotic… yelling at each other what to do. I highly recommend it if you have several devices. It’s more fund with more players. It’s not really a game (no strategy), but it is definitely social (and fun). 🙂
I have a two groups coming over for two different game nights this weekend. One always brings Betrayal at House on the Hill with them so we will be sure to get in a run of that. The other group likes card games a bit more so we will probably play Fluxx, Loot, Skip-Bo and similar games with them.
Bit of family gaming this weekend: Hey That’s My Fish!, Sleeping Queens, Forbidden Island, and I hope to get to unwrapping the new Castle Panic I ordered…
I played an impromptu game of Catan: Cities and Knights last night. I ignored my own advice and lost a city in the first barbarian attack (always go for ore!). I still got to 8 points when a friend won the game though. It was fun!
Grass the card game!
Our monthly Saturday game day at NWIBGA. Lots on the plate to get played over a 12-hour period.
MTG:Modern Masters draft.
Today was Midsommar in Sweden and we played some light party games, The Resistance, Dixit, Star Fluxx. And Sadly, all the games we’re a bit of a failure, the non gamers didn’t understand the rules, the turns took too long, and some games we unfinished. Here is hoping that my Sunday gaming group will wash this bad experience from my memory.
I cannot wait to play all the games Stratagon mentioned, cause I will be there! Save me a soft seat!
This evening (Friday) I have the next session of the Pathfinder game that I’m in, and tomorrow I have another session of Star Wars: Edge of the Empire. I will also be picking up my copy of Hanabi which finally arrived at my FLGS, so I’m really hoping I’ll be able to get in a couple plays on that.
Beyond that, I’d like to be able to play at least one other game, maybe Takenoko or Torres.
I’m hosting the monthly 18-hour gaming extravaganza again! Our facebook group voted in advance and the schedule includes: X-Wing, Legendary, Puerto Rico, Killer Bunnies, Battlestar Galactica, Galaxy Trucker, LOTR:DBG, King of Tokyo, and Merchants and Marauders.
Just got hold of Augustus and have had a quick game with my daughter. Definitely a good family/muggle friendly game there. I expect we’ll get another game or two of that over the weekend. I’m also expecting stuff like Gubs and Love Letter to get an outing, and hopefully a game of Android Netrunner (where I get to be the corp this time!).
7 Wonders, In the Year of the Dragon, Jet Set, Catan Explorers & Pirates, Mice & Mystics, Archipelago, Vasco da Gama.
