Some kickstarter games came in the mail this week, like Dead Man’s Draw by Mayday Games and Harbour by TMG. I’ve also found that you can get Marvel Dice Masters boosters at Target, so that’s extremely dangerous for me! I’ve also been staring at Lords of Xidit on the shelf and really want to play that one… it is going to be a wait and see kinda weekend.
What are you playing this weekend?
Looking back at my hopes for last weekend, I see that I played exactly 0 of what I wanted to play. Oops!
I expect to play some more Terra Mystica and Seasons with the wife. Also Dead of Winter just arrived in the mail. Yay new game smell!
I expect to spend some time feeding my Memoir 44 addiction this weekend by finishing up a few separate scenarios from the eastern front, all the while preparing to launch into campaign book one.
I’ll also try another run at Legendary Encounter: Alien, hoping not to die horribly.
I got in more plays than I thought I would! We managed to get all of the following to the table for some great gaming moments.
-Sentinels of the Multiverse -(found a great hero combo and slapped down Deadline in what was record time for defeating any villain for my group). With bonuses from Legacy, Captain Cosmos, and his own bounties, ol’ ChronoRanger cleaned Deadline’s clock in just a few short rounds.
-Legendary -(It was a close game, but due to some unfortunate player choices, we ultimately lost against Kingpin and his battery of goons.
-Machi Koro – We love how quickly it plays and look forward to adding the expansion soon.
-Sushi Go – Always a nice quick game to play.
-Splendor – I’m still trying to figure out how to beat my friend at this one, but I’m getting closer.
I will start a Pathfinder run with a couple of friends from the office.
Also, I think I will play some Blokus and Qwirkle with my in-laws and GF (making points with the family, haha)
And if everything goes well, maybe some Heroclix or Dice Masters.
No games on friday and sunday but saturday…
Gears of Wars solo, mission 1 (2x), 2 (2x) and 3
2 games of the Hare and the Tortoise
1 game of Fantastiqa…
Just received Assault on Doomrock, Defenders of the Realms, Tsuro of the Seas, Tales of the Arabian Nights ans Expedition: Famous Explorer so it will be a busy gaming week
Thanks for all the great suggestions. I look forward to trying them.
I have the first Munchkin expansion that I’ve been waiting to add in and play so probably this and and some adventure time card wars. Debating on whether to purchase Star Realms or finally pick up Catan. I just don’t know if my housemates and fiancée are up for learning anything more involved.
Eldritch Horror for our regular game night here.
Afternoon gaming sesion was cancelled… 🙁
Hope to test those games this week and share my impresions about Trickerion.
About it, the PnP version they are giving is quite complete and with a very good print quality full color. The game will be anyway highly improved with the KS version, but after checking what i have on the PnP and the rules, the mechanics can be fully tested and the feeling will be for sure very near the definitive product.
It has been a busy gaming weekend. On top of the previous mentioned games we got to play some more Camel Up and Qwirkle yesterday as well as Pandemic. Today we fit in Suburbia and Machi Koro!
@Katte Those were some good big boxes to get for B2G1!
tom- For new games try Machi Koro, andSun Tzu. For older games try Kaigan(don’t let the theme throw you off, it’s great), and Kingdom Builder.
Just did some Pandemic: On the Brink and Pandamic Contagion, not sure I will have time for anything else.
Got to play some Mr. Jack on Sunday afternoon and then was introduced to Terra Mystica.
Played Sentinels of the Multiverse for the first time! We only used 2 heroes (tempest, ra) against baron blade and came within 1 hp of winning. It was really close, and fun. Feeling cocky, we played Citizen Dawn (with Wraith, and Haka) and lost very quickly. We’ve looked up more about the game and realize we should have a 3rd hero, or use “sidekicks”, but it is a great cooperative game that was a lot of fun to play.
I look forward to playing some more!
Our local game shop had their annual winter sale which meant buy 2 get 1 free. We gave in and added a few big box games to our collection – Star Trek Catan, Xcom, and Eldritch Horror. Hopefully we’ll have time to try one of them out but we have a busy weekend so not sure we’ll get to play them until later in the week.
4 player game of 1825 Unit2 with 2 new players to the genre. This and 1825 Unit1 is in mu mind the best way to introduce new players to the world of 18xx. This was my fourth play of 1825-2 and it is remarkable how different each game has been given stocks being available in a given order.
This weekend was a great weekend of gaming.
I got together with the cousins for the following:
Zombie Dice
Pit
Bang the Dice Game
Tsuro of the Seas with Veteran of the Seas expansion
King of Tokyo with both the Power Up and Halloween expansions
And then the next day, I beat Pandemic and Forbidden Island
Great weekend!!!
@Tom – Give Alhambra and Machi Koro a try. Alhambra has a dummy player that doesn’t get in the way too much when you play a two player game. Also right now Machi Koro is one of my favourites and works great two players. Also I totally agree with @Brodie’s suggestion of Lost Cities. It is a fantastic little two player game.
Played Omen: A Reign of War Omega Edition, Hemloch: Midnight Edition and Robinson Crusoe last night.
