As much as I tried to resist, the force was too strong and we’ll be getting our copy of Star Wars: Imperial Assault hopefully today, but maybe not until Monday. I’ll probably spend this weekend in preparation for the holidays, learning the rules for the games we hope to play.

So I waited until today to answer this one and give my report.
Sunday I played another epic game of Runebound. Never fails me. but today was a little more special. Today, the 24th is when we celebrate Christmas here in Sweden, and I decided to try to take some games to my in-laws. My in-laws are all very well educated academics with jobs at Stockholm University. They have never played games before. Not even Monopoly or Scrabble (Alfapet here in Sweden). My GF suggested Holiday Fluxx and I brought along Ticket to Ride Europe. Both went over splendidly. This experience restored my faith in Fluxx as a game, and confirmed what I say at work everyday “Ticket to Ride is be best family game”.
God Jul, allihopa
Happy Holidays, Everyone!
Loading up the car for our xmas break round the relatives house.
Dixit, zombie dice, Wits & Wagers, Qwirkle, machi koro & Sheriff of nottingham.
I will be playing Terra Mystica and Robinson Crusoe with the wife
Mostly played either Doomtown: Reloaded and DC Comics: Forever Evil this weekend. Heading out of town tomorrow night for the holidays, and bringing along several “smalls” to try to teach to my mother and sister.
A little late, but we played some new things that we recently picked up. Star Realms, D-Day Dice, 2-player Xia, and the Catan Dice Game. D-Day Dice was a sale item at a local store and has been a great hit with my gamer son. It is a good solo game as well as group game. He has needed more 2-players games since it is hard to get more than that to play very often. Marvel Dicemasters in addition to Star Realms and the dice games are filling that need.
This season we are adding in 4 dice games; all with the Yahtzee mechanic. I fear they will all be too similar in the end. We will see how it goes.
Visiting some friends yesterday and first playes a round of Catan with their 8 year old before two rounds of Splendor before ffinishing with a round of kamisado.
We played a couple of games of Flapjacks and Sasquatches, Formula D, and Settlers of Catan. Received Firefly as a gift and found a copy of Merchants and Marauders on the cheap.
Let’s see… got a round of Sentinels of the Multiverse and got slaughtered by Iron Legacy. Played some Zooloretto and Qwirkle. Also, got in some Space Cadets: Dice Duel with “Die Fighter” expansion with my son and some Lost Cities with the wife.
Yesterday, I played a solo learning game of Imperial Settlers and then followed with a game of Dixit with my family. Today, my son and I played a game of Merchants and Marauders. A nice mix of games.
A mostly light gaming weekend has included Imperial Settlers, Paperback, Good Cop Bad Cop, Pairs, Red7, Forbidden Desert, and The Great Heartland Hauling Co.
I’m hoping to get another game of Imperial Settlers in today, along with maybe Arcadia Quest.
Happy Holidays to Everyone! Game on!
I got in a game of Splendor today. Yesterday I was selling games! 😀
Full game of Android yesterday. About 4 hours with 4 people. Great game, too bad there was never made an expansion with more characters for it.
Finished up with quick rounds of Set, Ghost blitz 5 to 12 and Inka.
Looks like nothing for me… 🙁
Got Forbidden Island so played that and found it enjoyable, added in a couple of games of Ingenious and the standard game of Carcassonne. We finished the night with a game of Escape from Colditz for a bit of retro!
Had a pleasant long saturday with my wife and pals, plus some alcohol and board games. First we built some space stations in Among the Stars, where my wife was able to pass 100 points mark for first time we ever played the game. From there we moved on more grim side of space, when we ran for our lives from Cylon onslaught in Battlestar Galactica. Then we all got infected in Pandemic and withered away. Had fun 20 mins shouting things in Outburst Rem!x and game evening (night at that point) wouldn’t be complete without shoving it in Ancient Ones face in Elder Sign.
Playing Machi Koro, Arcadia Quest, Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective and trying to learn Tragedy Looper. I might find a little time this week to make some ground on painting my Super Dungeon Explore minis.
The husband and I spent all day at our favorite game cafe and played Eldritch Horror (finally!) and King of New York.
Planning to play some new games we have picked up recently (early gifts). D-Day Dice, Star Realms, and the Catan Dice Game. I am sort of dismayed that I have gone from no dice games to 3 this season – all with that “yahtzee” style game. It might be too much of the same thing all at the same time.
My wife and I played another game of Lords of Waterdeep with the Scoundrels of Skullport expansion. She beat me by about ten points. It was a good game with the undermountain part of the expansion. (I don’t much care for the skullport boards and “corruption”). I always play either just the undermountain expansion or the skullport expansion. I don’t like to play both. We had a good mix of base game buildings and expansion buildings and seemed to have more base game quest cards. We each had one 40 point quests.
My sister has come for Christmast Holydays, and requested for me has taken a copy of Run, Fight or Die!
We had a firts couple of plays yesterday (i will be writing a Review soon) and was quite funny. Also we have started to check play Warhammer 40.000: Conquest LCG and completed the afternnon with a game of Seasons.
Then, my gaming group has been recently helping me into getting my girlfriend into boardgaming. We have tested some games and she seems to have a like for Eurogames, as she had a blast with The Village So we have scheduled to play World without end as she also really likes Ken Follet’s books.
