Last night was our game night, so we got in a quick game of Food Fight, and then took it to the dark corridors of Gears of War. I really enjoy the cooperative and quick gameplay of Gears of War, but suggest not teaching it to a group at 11 at night. By the time we had things down, we were all tired. It’s definitely a game we’ll bring out again though, just earlier. 🙂
This being a holiday weekend, are you planning on bring out the games?
Foolish Easter, didn’t end up playing anything at all. But, on the plus side, I bought Small World to try from Myriad Games today, so things are looking up! If you haven’t, check out Myriad Games, they have the best service ever. http://www.myriadgames.com
This past weekend I got in a game of Smallworld and two games of Magic (one two-player Commander format game, one four-player standard 60-card deck game). I also spent a decent chunk of time going through my cards to pull for a few Commander decks I want to build.
Other than that, it was a really light gaming weekend. Other stuff took the time, as it often does with holidays.
In the end, we just played Braggart and the “Keeper-less” version of FLUXX. Not long enough to play more games.
An old friend of mine came in that weekend from out of town and the old group got together to play the old Marvel RPG (the TSR one for those whom may recall). Did the classic Marvel team-up game that included favorites like Captain America, Wolverine, Iron Man, Sabertooth, Ghost Rider, etc. to fight of a horde of vampires led by evil vampire queen Aunt May and Spider Man. A drunken good time was had by all.
Yesterday we had Zuiderspel, a games convention in Eindhoven – The Netherlands. I only could play Khet one time. The rest of the time I was explaining games or give general information about Roll The Dice.
TI, Merchants and Maruaders, RftG? That’s a good schedule for me.
Had a marathon games weekend. It was epic. Agricola, Twilight Imperium, Blood Bowl, Merchants and Marauders, Arcana, and Race for the Galaxy. Does it get any better than this???
I played Chocolatl and 10 days in Europe today! Technically it`s not a weekend now, but, hey, it`s Easter! 😛 Hope to play some more next Monday.
Hope I’m not breaking any rules by replying post-weekend.
I played some Lego Heroica with my kids. Really dig that Lego’s given me such a great way to intro boardgaming to my children. We’re really looking forward to new sets.
I tried to convince my wife to play Food Fight w/ me as I’d picked it up on Thursday night. Based on how hesitant she was, I picked up the iOS version and thought it was good fun. I’m really hoping I get the opportunity to play the physical version.
Just Eclipse. The next two weeks look more promising.
I spend my weekend with my parents and relatives…so we played some family games like Coloretto and Ticket to Ride.
By the way…Resistance is really addictive! Awesome game, I’m looking forward to play it again.
Happy Easter to everyone!
Another eventful game weekend for myself.
Friday I helped walk through 6 people play Elder Sign, and played a game of Thunderstone Advance: Towers of Ruin.
Saturday I showed up late to the monthly gaming event in my area but got to watch 5 games of Star Wars: The Queen’s Gambit…played Troyes and Le Havre.
Sunday I played 2 games of Flash Point: Fire Rescue on veteran and lost the first game (accidentally had too many hazmat tokens out) but won the second game. Finished off with a 2 player game of Wings of War: The Dawn of World War II.
*Forgot two games of coloretto on Saturday.
New games arrived last week. We tried out Red Dragon Inn 2, The Resistance, and played a few rounds of Killer Bunnies per usual. I have to say, The Resistance was definitely the highlight. Looking forward to playing it again.
Hopefully I can get in a game of Eminent Domain or Lords of Waterdeep with my wife… maybe some Carcosonne and/or Settlers with the family.
Happy Easter everyone!
We played some Dreadfleet and Chaos in the Old World. We’ve played CitOW plenty of times before, but Dreadfleet was a first for me. Perhaps because it was a learning game for half of us, it took far longer than anyone at the table wanted, so everyone rushed the last few turns just so we could get into something else. It is worth another try to see if the length was a result of first-timers’ AP or if it is just a “feature” of the game.
Actually, a friend just showed me that Dominion is now available for i-devices…for free. Played a few games and remember why I don’t play Dominion anymore. 😉
My daughter is visiting, so it will be bound to be Alhambra at some point.
The Resistance with 10 and then with 7. It’s a blast! Filled a whole session and we have only got tired of it after about a dozen games.
Apples 2 Apples with the family ;]
Played “A Few Acres of Snow”. I was always curious to the high praise that game got, was never interested by the theme. Pretty amazing how deep the game is for how light it is. Other than that, no gaming, just painting.
