It’s time to get back into our adventures with Myth! We’re going through the story quests, and now that a lot of extra support material has been released by Megacon Games we feel like we’ve got a good grasp on the gameplay and can just enjoy our adventuring.

Hopefully, I will finally get Stobe Age to the table this weekend. We are expecting snow tonight into tomorrow, so we may be able to stay in and play a while.
I’d like to play both ‘The Builders: middle ages’ and ‘8 minute empires: legends’ which just arrived last night. We already played a few hands of ‘Grim end manor’ last night (guys, I can’t recommend this 3 page print and play enough, it’s available on the KS page, a really great filler).
Then, time permitting I’d live to play some more ‘Ancient terrible things’. We got this last week, played it once, and loved it.
On top of D&D we are also looking forward to a Netrunner draft tournament at our FLGS.
I’ll be playing some Magic: The Gathering at the Journey Into Nyx prerelease event. Sealed events (where you open boosters & make a deck on the spot from what you have opened) with a new set is probably my favorite format. Beyond that, we’ll likely play some Quicksand with the kids, and maybe a game or two of Netrunner.
@Paladin – congrats on the conversion. No easy task! I don’t think it would be possible for me to be as into games if it hadn’t become something we both enjoyed.
My weekends are always built “son-up”, so we figure out what we’re doing with him then sneak games in while he naps and after he goes to bed. Saturday AM we’re taking him to the LA Zoo (we’re members, so this will be his 4th or 5th trip) and then taking him for his first haircut on Sunday. I can’t explain it, but I am so excited for this.
We have a friend who will be hanging out with us all weekend as his wife abandoned him for Vegas, so we’ll be making a run on great 3 and 4 player games. We’ll definitely be playing Chaos in the Old World and Quarriors (I will NOT succumb to this Marvel re-theme!). Ghost Stories and Kingsburg are also likely. I’d also like to teach him Rampage… we have yet to play it 4-player, but we’ve had a riot with our dozen or so 2 and 3 player games.
Got some friends in Android: Netrunner, so my pal and I will be playing with them and giving them some deckbuilding advice. Hopefully also heading over to my FLGS to get in some playtime there.
I also finally picked up Race for the Galaxy, so I’m hoping to get in some time with that too.
@thegordonshow – I love it, even though I get my butt kicked every 3 out of 4 games. I got super lucky once on a Wind weather roll, selected two new objective cards, took Plot Objective for both and they were already complete. Such dirty looks!
@Hai – I know, right? My mission to transform her into a gamer (and a professional wrestling fan, but I’ll digress on that in this forum) is officially successful. You should have seen the excitement when I sat her down and played the Escape Big Box Kickstarter video. Pure awesome.
@JAY May your standard @JAY Weekend not be your standard @JAY weekend 🙂
@Granny – will do. The Arena Bloodbowl theme is not my fave-but I will play it with open eyes (and the rage face of bloodsport!!!!):P
@Paladin – why hearing that – that’s like the Song of Dice and Cardboard
Saturday I am planning on participating in prerelease events for the latest Magic set. Beyond that I do not have any specific gaming planned, though I hope to be able to play at least one other game.
Pathfinder Adventure Card Game is certain. Having a friend over tonight so maybe I’ll pick up a good 2-player game.
@Paladin – Glad you’re enjoying Takenoko! That’s currently our couples game addiction too.
(In addition to the old standby of Dominion, of course.)
Well, If my family stays healthy this weekend. I’m game for anything now. I’ll report in on Monday.
It’s Pirate Day at our group this Sunday…so dusting off the ol’ copy of Merchants and Marauders. We’ll also be playing Dread Curse, Scalawag!, Loot, Libertalia, Der Schwarzenegger Pirat, Pirate’s Cove, Liar’s Dice, and Sewer Pirats. Arrrr! Ye bilge rats be warned! Granny Somebeard be sailin’ t’ high seas.
@HK I am curious about Kaosball, because I like a lot of Eric M. Lang designs. Let us know if you do end up playing it…if it’s any good or not. I’m loath to spend a load of money on any of these scifi/fantasy sports games to have them just sit on the shelf collecting my dead skin cells. I’ve got books for that.
Well since The Boy brought home his 20 pound box of Kaosball last night (that arrived out of the blue) I assume I will be playing a few rounds of that. Unpacking and sorting it was a fun hour – but not really my cup of tea gamewise.
I’ve challenged The Boy to a best of 3 tournament of The Agents to see who backs the new campaign for more goodness in The Fancy Box 😉
Other than that – The Pathfinder Six will be getting together Sunday to take on an adventure (or two – hopefully) of Pathfinder:ACG Hook Mountain Massacre as our Sins of the Saviors arrived recently from Paizo subscriptions and that means we are WAAAY behind!
We have our best gamer friends coming over this weekend so we are sure to get in more “gamers” games. I’m hoping that Thunderstone, Suburbia, and Core worlds hit the table.
Having a game night jr tomorrow to thank the many friends who helped so much on advertising Spielbound this past month. Still recovering from running a Kickstarter and keeping my day jobs, but hoping to play Kemet/Cyclades, learn Snowdonia, & check out Gravwell.
Last night I was asked a question by The Lady, which I’ve been waiting to hear from the other side of this partnership for months: “Can we get take out and play board games tomorrow night?”
Why, yes. Yes we can.
Invited another couple over, we’re going to introduce them to Ghost Stories and Pandemic to start with, and possibly some Small World — though I am still itching to get a game in with a few experienced players, so I can use my Tales and Legends deck.
Kind of want to teach them Takenoko, too, as that is our current two-player addiction (thanks, @AccountDeletion and everyone else who recommended it for a couples’ game!).
Busy day of non-gaming stuff tomorrow, but hoping for a chance to get a friend or two over on Sunday. Lords of Waterdeep has been sitting on my shelf in shrink wrap for far too long.
I have some Castle Panic with the much-anticipated Wizard’s Tower expansion at game lunch at work.
Then on the weekend I am going to try to introduce my new Takenoko to as many family members as possible. Had a quick test playthrough and it is fantastic.
It sounds like we’re getting Fire and Axe out, which gets pretty heated in our group. I wish I had a copy to play more, but it’s tough to find a good price on.
I hope so too, Kass! My group will be playing GURPS Traveller this Sunday but I hope to get in something cool Saturday night maybe the Firefly board game or Descent. ^_^
