@inmarg: Legion seems fairly straightforward. It can get a bit complicated with terrain and line of sight rules, although I believe FFG is working on re-defining those rules soon. Versus X-wing they are comparable in complexity. X-wing can be a bit more technical with the movement I feel. Legion is a bit more casual in movement rules. Legion will provide more of a hobby aspect regarding painting the minis and building terrain. This could be another great way for you guys to spend time together. Or it could be a burden you want to dodge. Of course, you could always outsource that to commission miniature painters like myself.
I traditionally don’t game much in April because its the time of the year where I’m doing a ton of yard work, some spring cleaning and getting my cars squared away for the summer season. However, it’s been unseasonably cold this April. We even had an ice storm over the weekend. Can’t get much done in this weather. What’s a person to do? Game!!! Game heavily!!
On Saturday evening we visited our neighbours and played a couple of games:
Shinobi WAT-AAH! (full Grand Master version, more interesting than just single hands of play)
Sea of Clouds (rather enjoy this but really didn’t do well!)
Sunday I was very happy to be playing games with my daughter when she visited. We played:
Bärenpark (new to daughter, first time I played with more than 2 which I found much better)
Lotus (haven’t played it for a while, daughter pulled of a good win!)
Magic Labyrinth (for a bit of a laugh)
Fresco (new to daughter. She got it really quickly and game a very close second!)
and finished with two games of Agricola (two player just me and daughter, she beat me in the second game!)
Yay, one of the easier puzzles, at least for me this time.
How is Legion, compared to X-Wing and IA skirmish games? I have a 7 year old who is growing quite interested in SW and I’m most likely to jump into X-wing as he more fascinated by the ships.
Yesterday was Epic Game Day! Can you guess which games we played?
1 – “My AT-ST is just not enough to stop all five of your Rebel Trooper units from claiming these objectives.”
2 – “After playing this game, I will need to back the second edition on Kickstarter before time runs out. I had so much fun breeding dinosaurs!”
3 – “We have new players so let’s keep the rules simple at first. It is a short game we can add Percival and Morgana when we play it the second time tonight.”
4 – “Your stars won’t be worth as many points if you keep using your mechs against my farmers.”
Thanks, Supermartin!
Nice plug, Stratagon!! His painting is amazing!! I have seen it in person!!
This was a weekend with boardgames! Hallelujah!
The first game caught something rare and exotic, which was Soul Hunters, a 2-4 Players game, from Publisher Tuonela Productions Ltd.
The second game was also not very common, it was the Genesis, game for 2-6 Players, from Publisher Gigantoskop.
Then we decided to go to a game more known to the public, the Deadwood of the company Fantasy Flight Games.
And finally we made two Infiltration games from the same Fantasy Flight Games.
Very nice and disputed matches.
Thanks for the input.
As I have IA I’m more inclined to head for the X-wing direction. Mostly due to his fascination for the larger ships compared to the people.

@inmarg: You completed the entire EGD quiz! Congratz!
Actually it was as there is no way there should be 5 rebel troopers in IA.
I could probably go through the entire list of SW games but first guess will be the latest release; Legion.
@inmarg You got all but the first one. I did worry if my clue was not detailed enough to discern from IA though.
Thumbs up for epic quiz:
1) Guessing Imperial Assault
2) Dinosaur Island
3) Taking a shot at Resistance: Avalon on this.
4) Scythe

Not a lot of time to play this weekend, but I hope to get in a game of Shadowrun: Crossfire and The Flow of History.
