This Week’s Explorable Games
This round of Explorable Favorites is from the BoardGaming.com member that currently is in 3rd place for most Gamer XP, Wind Lane! The two games selected from his favorites shelf are:
- Tales of the Arabian Nights
Z-Man Games - Dungeons & Dragons: 4th Edition
Wizards of the Coast
These games will be explorable until next Monday, January 13th.
After you’ve explored these games, let us know what you think about them in the comments below!
Nice games. Haven’t done much D&D since first edition, but. I enjoy the board game adaptations of 4E (Ashardalon, etc.). I have been waffling about Tales of the Arabian Nights for over a year, but I’m just not sure if it will get enough play time. It looks like a ton of fun, though.
As an aside, the XP from exploring those games bumped me up to 3rd place (at least temporarily :))!
Can we get a list of the explorable games? People can reach the Treasure Chest level it seems, so I’m guessing there are more than 75 games to explore… I thought I explored them all but I’m only at 66.
Yes! Now I have my Treasure Chest! Now for the next secret award…
D & D (1st Edition) was indeed my first RPG game too and got me into the whole thing. Pretty soon I was playing TMNT and Star Wars among others. This was back in my student days… good times.
Dungeons & Dragons was my first RPG game (and some people say that Dungeons & Dragons has almost become a board game).
I played from the 1st edition, I do not see major changes in Dungeons & Dragons: 4th Edition as the theme.
It’s like telling the same story only by another person.
Who is a dinosaur like me this game will understand what I say.
I’ve also gotta say that I’ve had an absolute blast playing both of the explorable games for this week. Glad to own them both.
I’m right there with you, dude. 4E does things wonderfully well for keeping the action moving – especially for the DM. It’s my favorite RPG to DM out of everything I’ve tried.
Gamer Bling wishes he could grab everyone by the collar and make them understand the awesomeness of the 4e design. Sadly, too many were too heavily invested in the 3e books and never gave it a fair shake. Gamer Bling’s favorite concept is that 4e casters finally deliver on their promise (http://gamerbling.wordpress.com/2009/02/11/4th-times-the-charm/).
