Sorry MAJBrown22, but I believe that is incorrect. Epic Card Game is a reimplementation of the Epic CCG, it is not a completely new game. This has been clarified in numerous threads on other sites. It is reusing a lot of the same cards, but cleaning up terminology and rules, utilizing all new artwork and removing the collectible aspect. From comparing old and new cards and rules it shows to be very much the same game in a lot of respects, just with some phases removed and terminology adjusted to speed up the gameplay.
Why they don’t mention that this is based off the original Epic TCG is the question, though. Maybe for marketing reasons? (Epic wasn’t exactly a hit) Maybe due to licensing issues, who knows. But playtest reports pretty much confirmed that this is a reimplementation of the original, even if not an exact copy.
Also of note, it is the same designer.
I still have 4 open campaign and did back anythin for the past 3 weeks…my wallet thanking me for that.
Actually backing:
Defenders of the Realm Dragon expansion
Assualt on Doomrock : Doompocalypse expansion
Defenders of the last stand
Drawves: the saga…Loved the novels
On my stared list
Middara
Dragon War- riders of Ashara
Salvation Road
Blackout
I’m backing Defenders of the Last Stand, Pillars of Eternity: Lords of the Eastern Reach, Epic Card Game, and Helionox.
A few notes:
1. Defenders of the Last Stand is NOT a miniatures game, it’s a board game. It uses about 80% of the rules from Defenders of the Realm. Monday is its last day. Richard Launius + 8th Summit + Mad Max theme = guaranteed great game.
2. Epic Card Game is NOT a reprint of the Epic Trading Card Game, nor is it Star Realms in a fantasy setting; it’s completely new.
3. Check out Helionox, it’s a cool deck builder that adds locations and heroes (architects) to the formula.
provincialguardian – Epic was a pre existing CCG by the same name, so that is why they are keeping it. Love to see these old CCG’s resurrected in a non collectible format, allows everyone to enjoy the games completely from the start.

Super excited about Epic Card Game! Instaback for this guy. Unfortunate that White Wizard couldn’t have imagined a more creative name.
Defenders of The Realm has another expansion! It looks like the go to coop for fans of the genre.
