While more of a toy than a game, we’ve been completely obsessed with Anki Overdrive since last weekend when a friend’s 11-year-old brought it over. Being rather technology-averse, I was completely unaware how far AI in household robotics have come… and it’s put a big dent in our board game time. However, we will peel ourselves away to play some Munchkin Gloom and our long-delayed first go at Poseidon’s Kingdom.
What are you playing this weekend?
@Stratagon I figured the time had come.
@Hai That’s correct! Thanks for playing!
@Stratagon 1) DC Deckbuilder: Heroes Unite While not in Crisis mode 🙂
@inmarg Thank you kindly and well done on the quiz 🙂
Played Castle Ravenloft with my daughter
@Hai I believe, but I’m not 100% sure, that all your guesses are exactly NOT right!
@inmarg All correct except for #1. Good comeback this month!
Anybody else want to take a stab at the first one? (And it is a specific edition also…)
Played a lot of Memoir ’44. My son and I have been going through one of the grand campaigns from the Campaign Book Volume 1. Specifically, we played the Breakout Campaign from the Battle of Normandy. Also, played some My First Carcassonne and Castles of Mad King Ludwig. Last thursday at lunch, I played Istanbul for the third time and won for the first time.
@ Stratagon.
This time I’ll do better than last time.
1) Guessing DC Dice, haven’t tried it but it often appears on your list.
2) Red Dragon Inn
3) Chaos in the old world
4) Puerto Rico
5) Codenames
6) Galaxy Trucker
oh, and happy birthday Hai.
@Stratagon Thank you Sir! 🙂
And now to avoid answering the quiz:
1) NOT in Crisis Mode or you can’t have more than one ring to rule them all
2) NOT Don’t Tip the Waiter, but you had better tip the female equivalent.
3) NOT Illuminati: New World Order, but the complete opposite
4) NOT a dreaded Euro cube, but definitely part of a sinister geometry
5) NOT St. Pat, but St. Ratagon
6) NOT Car Wars and NOT Star Wars but in a way both peaceable halves.
Happy Birthday @Hai!
Epic Game Day quotes (one from each game, can you guess them?):
1 – Well that combo lets you buy all the expensive cards from the line-up ensuring your eventual victory. I guess I better go for the alternate win with Kyle Rayner.
2 – And it all comes down to an epic showdown between Zot and Pooky.
3 – Tzeentch and Slaanesh will run away with the victory unless somebody puts some pressure on them.
4 – I put my last guy on the Guild Hall. We need 9 colonists for the ship and we only have 6, so that’s the end of the game.
5 – Redundancy: 2
6 – Three Meteoric Storms in a row is a brutal! I am well past my insurance deductible!
Birthday Weekend for me and I was still basking in the glory of a double track run of Lords of Waterdeep for a win total of 215 points!
Huzzah!
I got to pick our Game Group Game for Saturday and I was going to go with Fortune and Glory which always makes for a fun evening killer, but decided on Secrets of the Lost Tomb – good times! It can get a little clunky here and there but it is soooo Ameritrash Pulpy it makes me squeal. Good tomb raiding times.
Between Brunch and Dinner on Sunday The Boy and I took Burgle Bros for a spin (good heisty fun) and played Small World which I always felt a bit *meh* about but liked it more since I have accepted Victory Point Salads into my diet.
Cardboard Loot Acquired
Fairytale Gloom
2 Ally Packs for Red Dragon Inn
Shadows of Malice (which is one of my top tenners in recent wishlistdom)
And now as icing on the cake I await @Stratagon’s Epic Game Day Quiz!
Didn’t play a think, too sick to play 🙁

got to play some Welcome to the Dungeon and Small World today. Good gaming afternoon.
Minimal gaming done this weekend. Played a couple games of Flick Em Up! with some friends and a game of Istanbul with my girl to finish the weekend.
It was an epic gaming weekend. We played lots of games! Which ones will have to remain a mystery for now!
A few games of Krosmaster Arena
Well, the guy with M.U.L.E. never showed up so I played Roll through the Galaxies: Ambition; Blind Hen with the expansions; Codenames; Tiny Epic Galaxies. So not a total loss.
