Our shiny new gaming table finally arrived, so we’ll be getting it set up and broken in this weekend. Our backlog of games is pretty big, so I have no clue what we’ll be picking. Since Jeff got it added to the site this week, maybe we’ll finally crack Villains of the Multiverse.
What are you playing this weekend?
@stratagon YAY!
@Hai I believe you have gotten them all “NOT correct”! Good job!
I have been down with the flu bug for the majority of the week just laying on the couch, looking pitiful for glasses of healing Tang, and playing the Sentinels Digital Dojo given the chance, but I can’t believe No one took a stab at the Epic Game Day Quiz!
@stratagon Allow me the courtesy…although my non-answers might not be up to snuff – I still have a fever and a head full of rubber cement.
1) Not The Resistance unless you include the Guy Fawkes face from V for Vendetta
2) I won’t outright say it, but I ain’t going to whistle it either.
3) Not a Fiefdom, but a Vassal of sorts
4) Harley isn’t in The Killing Joke, but she certainly appears in Mad Love *Harley Squee*
5) Not Zombicide and I hope my cold marks the end of it
EGD quiz (includes a few from our Thursday Meet-up). Can you guess the games that we played?
1 – Despite the fact that you may have swapped my card, I will claim to be the Bishop. Does anybody want to challenge that?
2 – “In the heart of the sea” seemed like a good story until you found out we all had pictures of the ocean in our hands.
3 – If you whack the Underboss, I will give you $5 and promise to break ties in your favor for this Crew phase.
4 – Because you just discarded Harley Quinn, I will play Batman to guess that you have the Joker in your hand.
5 – My two guys will search the Police Station while you look for food for the Colony. Do you think we can trust him or should we try to exile him on my turn?
Did manage to break out Sangoku; it was pretty good and will likely see more play. Also played a round of Takenoko; lost by exactly one point. 😀
Played Descent (2nd ed.) love that game, with boys. Machi Koro with the whole family. Now preparing for hopefully the first of many monthly game nights this Friday with 3 or 4 other couples.
Thebes
I got in a few games of Lord of the Rings LCG. Had people over Saturday and Sunday and that means lots and lots of Codenames (about 9 plays in total).
Finally got to play Keyflower this weekend. That is a great little game with a unique bidding/worker placement mechanism.
We also played through the seven Carcassone mini expansions. There are some good ones but most were flops with my group.
A little bit of Catan, followed by a major game of Battlestar Galactica! I was human and we won on a dice roll as we forced the last FTL with 1 population left, desperate times lead to a sweet victory.
Finally, we have only played T.I.M.E Stories the dragon Prophecy and we beat it in 3 runs.
Finally got to play some Show Manager and Cross Hares today
I was at a local gaming con this weekend and played Defenders of the realm, Codenames, Dice City, Splendor, Survive: Space Attack.
Colt Express with the stagecoach expansion will finally get played this weekend. Also a first try at Impulse and Rune Age.
I played Among Nobles last night and it was fun. Although the idea of trying to marry off your daughters was a little weird. Also played City of Horror, came in last but it was a lot of fun.
Not sure what I will be playing, but know that I am looking forward to almost anything…lol.
I may get a game or two of something light in tomorrow, but this weekend has to be dominated by the Friday evening/night of playing Pandemic Legacy. We spent a little over five hours to take four plays to get through the first three months. Very enjoyable, and the first time in a VERY long time that I have sat down with a group to play a game until it hurt and none of us could continue (even though we wanted to!). Hopefully we’ll do it again soon and see if we can get a few more months into the campaign.
My wife and I will continue our lovefest for Patchwork. I recently turned my son on to Castles of Burgundy, so I’ll try to get that back to the table, too. I’ll see if my daughter will give Forbidden Island a go again, too. Fingers crossed!
Going to get in some Zombicide: Black Plague on Sunday. May try to learn and play a few solo rounds of B’Sieged as well.
Friday: Return of the Heroes, Kemet & Alien Frontiers.
Saturday: Battlestar Galactica campaign – four games straight using ever increasing expansion material!
