So far, I’ve beaten two chapters in Mice and Mystics, had two successful go-rounds of Room 25, and plan on playing Forbidden Island and Pandemic tomorrow. Fun, fun, fun!
This weekend, I rediscovered Ghost Stories. After years of neglect I decided to give it another chance. Who knows, now that I’m an Avid gamers maybe my initial opinion has changed.
And it did
After reading the rules I understood that 10 years ago I was not ready for it. Now, I immedialety understood the mechanic and subtleties of the game.
The game is still hard to win but it is not so difficult to learn and play
Ghost Stories, you are now officialy back on the gaming shelf.
@Gamerdad Oh no! Chasing the literal Magic dragon! while @Stratagon chases the not-Attack-Wing one. Although @Strat I’m glad your Tie Fighter Soup is not up against me in the Tabletop Day cook off!
@HarryCallaghan I’d up thumb Battlestar if you were looking for a very tense and crunchy Who’s the Traitor? type game. Our gaming group enjoys it with much shoutiness but on the flipside of tense and crunch – some people find it dense and hard to swallow. Zpocalypse runs hot and cold with me. It’s fun enough, but stemming from Kickstarter:The Early Days – it always feels like a bit of an awkward freshman with some clunky bits and cards and components seeming on the cheap. Especially the cards – in terms of tactile they drive me nanners.
After a road trip and conference last week I’ve played the chits out of suitcase friendly Harbour, Omen, and Zeppelin Attack. Back at home to sort Kickstarter arrivals and thumb rule books that probably won’t see table light this weekend. 🙁 (Although I would like to give Xenoshyft a run on Sunday. The Deck Building meets Tower Defense intrigues and I want to see how it stacks against Legendary:Alien.
For a rather happy (finally) Spring-like Tabletop Day – I’m off to be a helper pixie at my FLGS where gaming will be catch-as-catch can. Shattered Hai of the Multiverse will be making Iron Legacy Potato Salad in the name of April Foolishness wishery. The secret ingredient? Bits of torn up ‘Young Legacy’ promo to give it that tastes like Ebay flavor and beat out the other salads and picknickery present.
Hoping to nab a Felicia Day Dead of Winter Promo Pack in the cook off or at least find out who I have to thumb the eye sockets of in the parking lot afterward to get one. Here’s hoping they stand still patiently while I drag out the step ladder.
May not get any actual gaming in for Tabletop Day. But my latest shipment arrived this afternoon, and I have been making TIE Fighter soup in preparation for painting my little Armada babies. (Despite the amazing quality that FFG provides in this game, the TIEs have wings that are not exactly parallel. So I spent my evening boiling up some water to dunk them in so they could be reshaped. Priming commences in the daylight!)
Having a get together for Tabletop Day. No idea what I’ll get to play though. People are bringing their kids, and I don’t have any kid games, so we’ll have to see how it goes!
Had a night planned and someone cancelled, ruining our plans, looking at Zpocolypse and battlestar galactica as future purchases next week. Anybody played either ?
I’m hosting a TableTop Day event at the church where I work! (I love my job…) I’m hoping to get in some 7 Wonders, some Dominion, and whatever else people want to play. I also hope to mix in some yugioh…and someone may have gotten me interested in Magic, so I might be busy tomorrow haha.
Celebrating TableTop Day with a large group of friends. Games to play will be Dead of Winter, Elder Sign, Saboeteur, Hanabi, One Night Ultimate Werewolf. Hoping to play Panic on Wall Street and introduce it for the first time too 🙂
@ Granny
When I won the first game I thought that it was because I became I real good gamer but after that, I lost 4 times in a row 🙂

@Lone Token
Ghost Stories is still probably my favorite cooperative game. It is hard to beat, and that’s why it is so sweet when you do win on occasion…
…it’s the Demon’s Souls of board games.
