This Week’s Explorable Games
This round of Explorable Favorites is from BoardGaming.com member Ryan. The games selected from their Favorites shelf were:
- Belfort
Tasty Minstrel Games | Published: 2011 - Last Will
Czech Games Edition, Rio Grande Games | Published: 2011
These games will be explorable until next Monday, May 18th
After you’ve explored these games, let us know what you think about them in the comments below!
Wow, I didn’t realize I was The Ryan who chose these! I even read these comments and wondered how people are chosen for these.
Belfort has been my favorite game since my first solo-learning game (which went swimmingly thanks to the wonderful rule book). With the exception of maybe Settlers of Catan it’s my most played. I’ve only lost the game once, to my wife. It was a tie game and she had one more coin than I. I love the theme, art, and mechanics. It’s the whole package for me.
Last Will is another favorite of mine that I had a really bad experience with recently. It was Tabletop Day and we had finished setting the game up and I was in the middle of explaining the rules when the store owner says that they’ll be closing early tonight. We have 45 minutes. I rushed through the rest of the rules and we kinda stumbled through the first few rounds. The guys got the hang of it quickly, but apparently I left out a big rule (I swear I told them…) you can’t end the game with property. So I won handily, but it was bittersweet, and then I had to throw everything in the game box (I’m pretty **** about organization so that was hard on me) to get going as they were kicking us out.
Thanks for picking me!
@Akden Indeed you do
Well double “Boo!” on this week’s Explorables. Meta Game vs The Silent Majority 0-1 and no Last Will for me as I refuse to log a Fake-a-Play 🙁
A couple of very interesting games! Last Will needs a few more reviews to complete the explore.
I really like Belfort for it’s great components and fun theme. I especially like the dwarfs with sunglasses! 🙂
These two games have been on my short list for a while but now they have been pushed by other games…too much games not enough time…
Wow, already been close to 4 years since these arrived?
Time sure is flying by. Still remember first time I tried Last Will shortly after the release and still a game I enjoy when it hits the table.
Congrats @Ryan for being this week’s Sacred Shelf – do throw down some words if you pop by.
BELFOOORRRTTTT!!! *fists to the heavens* This game is beginning to gaslight me! I must get it soon. Til then it will haunt my dreams (along with FOOOORRGEEE WAAAARRRSSSS
Well done Ryan, spill the beans.
Congratulations to Ryan on being the chosen one this week. Tell us about your prized choices.
