This Week’s Explorable Games
This round of Explorable Favorites is from BoardGaming.com member Andr0ss. The games selected from their Favorites shelf were:
- Spartacus: A Game of Blood & Treachery
Gale Force Nine | Published: 2012 - Letters from Whitechapel
Fantasy Flight Games, Nexus | Published: 2010
These games will be explorable until next Monday, July 14th.
After you’ve explored these games, let us know what you think about them in the comments below!
Thanks @Account Deletion for finding that for me!
@coltsfan76 & @Bit and Bot Massacre, I do like the idea of a third game should we repeat one that has been explorable before. This allows us to open a game back up for exploration for those that have just joined or who may have missed it.
I HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!!!
@coltsfan76
Yeah, you mentioned the three explorable games in those cases. I was responding to Jim’s comment about not repeating games at all at the same time.
Sorry for the confusion!
We keep wanting to play Spartacus, but every time we have a fifth player show up. After reading the reviews, I’m even more impatient to get into it. Nnnggggggrrrr!
I never asked that they be removed. Just asking that a third option be made available.
I come to this site daily but there isn’t always content that interests me. One of the things that is a big draw to me is having the explorables each Monday. So it becomes a big disappointment when it isn’t fully available.
As far as babysitting, it seems like it is pretty easy to just check the two by clicking on them to verify. I see that one is already explored within a couple of seconds.
@Jim @coltsfan76
Some of us oldtimers have hit a lot of explorable games here, but there are a lot of folks who have not been around as long, and have not had an opportunity to explore some of the games we have.
If you wanted a third option in some of these cases for those of us who have been around a while, that is fine with me, just so long as babysitting what has been explored and what has not does not become a huge chore and makes you not want to do the explorable games at all.
That being said, I am against just removing games from being explorable just because they were once before, effectively eliminating new members from the opportunity. Not being able to explore two games every week is not that big a deal to me.
Just my two cents.
@Jim – it was @Andy that put together the list, and it was September/October 2013 as a comment in the weekly explorables news article.
ARGH! Yet another game I have had to add to my Wishlist (Letters from Whitechapel)… I’m struggling to support my hobby, lol
But really, I love Exploring these games – it’s a brilliant way to get me to look at games that wouldn’t have otherwise caught my eye, and I keep adding more to my list of “wants”.
Thank you Jim for boardgaming.com 😀
@coltsfan76, I’ve got a spreadsheet of past explorable games, but it only includes those for these Explorable favorites articles. I remember awhile back someone put together a list of all the previously explorable games… I’ll try and find it and then add those games to my list so we don’t repeat games 🙂
Finally got the Mask!!
Bah. Another previously explored game. When those pop up, can we get a third explorable please?
Two very themey games. Spartacus is better than most games based on TV shows, and Letters is the adult version of Scotland Yard.
