This round of Explorable Favorites is from BoardGaming.com member Olak. The games selected from their Favorites shelf were:
- Summoner Wars Master Set
Plaid Hat Games | Published: 2011 - Descent: Journeys in the Dark (2ed)
Fantasy Flight Games | Published: 2012
These games will be explorable until next Monday, April 11th
Descent was one of the firsts for us and still hits the table!!
Oof… this was my mistake.
It’s fixed now. Thanks for the catch @inmarg!
Anyone else noticed that the video for Summoner is for the wrong game?
The game showing in the video is Kemet… 😉
Kemet does have the correct video so no changeover.
I still prefer 1st Edition Descent to the rebootery
I own Summoner Wars Master Set.
I have looked at Descent: Journeys in the Dark but like others I just can not bring myself to buy it. I have tied to get others in my game group who own it to bring it so I can play it but it just has not happened.
I haven’t played it in awhile but Summoner Wars is an excellent game. Quick playing, very tactical and fun!
Played Descent 2ed (& Imperial Assault) in campaign mode for a bit. We didn’t get too far in either game though. I enjoyed Descent more, the scenarios seemed to be better balanced. We always struggled to find an Overlord. It gets old doing that, hence the short campaigns. Still, both are good games.
I have been looking at descent for a while now. But cant bring myself to get it yet.
I’ve played quite a lot of Descent 2nd and Imperial Assault and I must confess I prefer a single adventure of Descent 1st edition. Somehow each campaing I’ve played tend to have a snowball effect as soon as 1 side has won a couple of scenarios which have made it near impossible for the other side to catch up.
However, I’m excited about the Road to Legend app soon comming up.
Never played Descent, but have played dozens of Summoner Wars matches. One of my all time favorites, it was a gateway game for me into the hobby!
Looking forward to checking out Descent.
Every time I check out a Fantasy Flight catalog, my eye is drawn to Descent. The components and artwork are first rate. Congratulations to Olak on being chosen as this week’s gamer with the Explorable Faves!
I wanted Descent for a long time…but after picking up Imperial Assault, it’s no longer on my wish list. Summoner Wars just doesn’t seem like my cup of tea.
Descent is still in my favorite and it’s also my daughter’s favorite game.
Recently we add the coop expansion to the game. It was so great to play that game coop.
