This Week’s Explorable Games
This round of Explorable Favorites is from BoardGaming.com member PantherSnake. The games selected from their Favorites shelf were:
These games will be explorable until next Monday, April 18th
Such classics! 🙂
Haven’t played either of these. However, I will give HeroQuest a try if I ever get the chance.
Heroscape always seemed like a money sink to me, so I’ve shied away from it. A few guys used to play it at my FLGS awhile back. Watched them play a few times. Seemed like a good game.
Congrats PantherSnake. I love the 3-D terrain and minis of these two “Hero” titles, but I haven’t played either of them.
Completing these two Explorables earned me the coveted Rosetta Stone. Yea!!
Heroquest was awesome, my friend owned it when we were kids and I remember all the great times, playing and checking rules etc. Great times!
Heroscape! Despite being out of print, it’s still going strong on the Heroscapers website, with regular tournaments all over the country and even online play. My son and I love this game, and it was his first introduction to board gaming.
I had the show The Boy this week’s Explorable.
Heroquest – it’s The Boy’s Nostalgia Grail and we have copies ready for the Apocalypso. The original version, the GW Advanced version, a special edition with a bigger board and more scenarios, Warhammer Quest, some D&D branded sideways version exclusive to England, an unpunched version locked away with Capes and Cowls in the MacGuffin chest, and the we-don’t-have-but-he-insists-will-come 25th Anniversary edition Vaporboard version I don’t want to know how many Euros were wasted on.
@iambfg I/f you ever want to borrow a copy I’m sure you just have to fill out a Sheldon Cooper-esque grade contract.
As for Heroscape I have always been curious. I remember seeing them on shelves in toy stores and if I had a time machine… I do wander the occasional Sunday flea market in the hopes of someone has a big plastic tub of no idea what they’ve got.
Never played HeroQuest and afraid I’ve outgrown it. HeroScape…my goodness the hours that I put in to that.
Nostalgia…
