Some answers to possible questions related to game exploration
Previously a small group of games would be explorable for a limited time, and the group would change each month. Moving forward the games that are explorable will be those included in the Game Collections.
The Game Collections will ALWAYS be available to explore, and the games recommended in them may change over time. New Game Collections will be released gradually, but not monthly. You’ll know when we’re working on a new collection because we’ll post an article asking for community input on recommended games!
As I just started I have no idea when the new ones come out but I hope it resets monthly. Someone should come up with a list of the explore-able games. That are not the monthly ones.
I loved this cooperative game exploration feature and I’m hoping for a new game group soon. Will it be tomorrow? 😀
I liked that one. When’s the new challenge?
@Phlimm – It bothers me less that they are all listed. The “exploring” part is not trying to find the games to explore, but explore the games you find. However, for the past two times, I was able to find a handful of them before they were actually announced so there is a certain thrill in trying to find them within those couple of days.
My bigger concern is the games that are not fully explorable, as Ish pointed out. There are 3 games that I cannot complete because of lack of reviews nor ability to play them. It should encourage others to post reviews in those cases but it doesn’t seem like it has happened. It isn’t that big of a deal unless its exploration tag expires at some point. But at least I can legitimately follow them until reviews are posted!
That was fun! Will there be more soon? And will they be in the same catagory or a new one?
Just a note here, Gears of War cannot be explored to completion (unless I missed something). With only 2 reviews on it the maximum steps you can make is 9.
Great feature ohterwise, and very good topic picked for me, personally. Co-op games were something I wanted to get more involved in, this actually made me look around. 🙂
Nice to see this is implemented but honestly, it was to easy of a quest. Just listing them right there kind of takes the fun out of it. I would have said “The coop ones are out there. Go find them.”
Great work! One thing: I believe there is a small spelling mistake in the 16th game of the set (Gears of War: The Board Game). The a and o are reversed on this page: Cooperative game collection.

True, the template has been made but this is also an extensive list added. Before we only got (typically) 5 games a month that had no obvious connection. Now we have some extensive prep work pulling together a set theme and categorizing them. there is obviously a lot more work going into it. Now we have over 10 games to explore so I can see this being something that is more once a quarter than once a month. But I hope I am wrong. It is one of the best features of the site!
Cooperative games are great! Now hurry up and get Escape fully up on the site so I can rate and review it 😀
I’d have to imagine it’d be back on track, seeing as the whole quest got a major overhaul which I’m sure took a lot of time to do. Now that there is a template in place, I would think (hope) it’d be back to monthly. But don’t quote me on that. 🙂
Good to see this back in the rotation. It has been sorely missed. Going forward, what will the frequency be of new exploration quests?
