Car Wars: the Card Game is NOT to be confused with Car Wars which SJG is reissuing this year in both its original “Classic” version and in an updated streamlined version.
CW:TCG didn’t come in the plastic box; that was the original game.

Drive Offensively!
I actually had this original game. Wow, it was complicated. The time it took to work out weapon ranges, angles of fire, damage taken and to which areas and so on rather took away the fact that you were supposedly meant to be travelling at 120 mph. . . I think a card game version will be much more playable. Will be following this with interest.
One of my neighborhood friends had a copy of Car Wars around 1984-85. I don’t think we ever learned to play, but I recall gawking at all the contents and components. As a young teen, the game seemed to make me think of Mad Max and The Road Warrior movies.
Awesome that this is still around. I still have my copy in a hard plastic container that must be 25+ years old.
