I cannot wait to get my copy of Galactic Strike Force: The Cooperative Deck Building Game. It looks amazing!!
Tasnia seems interesting to me, but I’m not quite sure what it is that attracts me to the game. I guess I like building things.
Didn’t make the list but the game Lincoln’s War which has a few days left to kickstart just officially got funded. Looks like a very impressive boardgame-wargame combo just in time for the 150 year anniversary of the war. Looks like a lot of great detail on generals, politicians, spies, and civilians went into this one.
For those interested, here is the link (there are some nice videos there that will explain the game):

I have Galactic Strike Force & A Study in Emerald backed right now, but will probably drop GSF due to likely not being able to afford both games. Kind of a bummer they are due so close together.
I need to keep A Study in Emerald though. Lower production numbers, combined with one of my favorite designers & favorite authors, makes this difficult to pass up…
Of those listed above, I’m currently backing What’s He Building in There, Coup, and A Study in Emerald. I’m also backing Romans Go Home http://kck.st/10Cnmcj . Don’t be fooled by Romans Go Home’s cartoony art. The game appears to have some suprising depth and strategy to it. Plus you can get three different card games for a $42 pledge.
I’m also backing Galaxy Defenders http://kck.st/139ULlv . It’s a bit on the expensive side especially if you’re overseas (or having recently finished backing Zombicide Season 2…), but I think there’s some potential for this game.
@Andy Nothing like instant funding, huh?
Relic Expedition really looks like a winner to me. Very replayable and fun for the family and casual gamers. Since it will surely reach all its stretch goals there will be a good strategy component for those who want that too.
Deadzone from Mantic Games (who brought you Kings of War, Dreadball, and Loka) went up today.
It looks like a pretty safe bet to end up funded…
Target – $50,000
Total after the first few hours – $142,000
Days to go – 37
On the one hand, I would be upset if I never found out about the Belfort expansion on Kickstarter. On the other hand, I have to remind myself that Kickstarter isn’t my last chance to get a game…
I play games to reduce the stress that I get for working 2 jobs to afford all the Kickstarter games I support so I can have more games to play to reduce the stress of working 2 jobs…
I decided to dangle my feet into the Dwarven Forge waters a few weeks back, and then when they released the Map Maker, it sold me on the tiles.
The Map Maker itself is a lot of fun (and free to play with) for anyone looking to pass the time. It also does a great job of showing the benefits of the different types of tiles (before using it, I couldn’t figure out why people were so enthusiastic aboute the curved and diagonal floor).
For me, the curved and diagonal walls are the same thing. I know the curved wall gives that nice castle rounded look, but other than aesthetics, it’s the same thing, and I’m certainly not artistic enough for it to matter for me!
The big excitement for me here is A Study in Emerald: the combination of Cthulhu Mythos and Sherlock Holmes in a game designed by Martin Wallace is almost too much for the anticipation circuits to handle. Really looking forward to this.
That Dwarven Forge KS is just awesome. There’s so many freebies that you get double the number of pieces you put in for as long as you get at least two sets – and the add-ons are banging.
Backing but probably going to drop: Teramyyd. Considering Coup and getting replacements of Resistance since my copy is worn out.
I’m backing a few of these, but I think it should be noted that A Study in Emerald is a game designed my Martin Wallace (fantastic game designer) about Cthulhu (cool and spooky) from a short story by Neil Gaiman (amazing writer). This game is perfectly formulated geek-bate.
Another game that looks VERY interesting is Chronos Conquest… but it doesn’t look like it’s going to make it at the moment. Check out the mechanics. It’s a unique little game. Hopefully, some buzz can start soon.
All in all, Myth broke my wallet and I may have to de-pledge some of these. Krosmaster looks great… but maybe too much investment for one game.
Coup and Belfort Expansion are no-brainers for me, as I love Belfort and Resistance. Galactic Strikeforce would probably not get my money if I didn’t love Sentinels… so it will by default.
Kickstarter is an evil temptress. Every time I try to get away, she pulls me back in!
Sadly, I’m not backing any of these due to budget restrictions. That, and my wife would very likely kill me. I should really stop looking at KickStarter entirely.
The Belfort expansion and Galactic Strike Force: The Cooperative Deck Building Game (by the same company that makes Sentinels of the Multiverse) would be my top choices.
What’s He Building In There? looks pretty good to me, as does Coup. While Krosmaster Arena looks interesting, it’s just too much money for the content in my opinion.
