@Strats WOOHOOO!!!!! Null Sets FTW! Man! I used to love Mindtrap with all the little puzzles and minute mysteries!

As for Cheer Squad vs. Mathletes! BOOM! Take that Carrie Schnell – Junior High Arch-nemesis! We rock socks! (or no socks as this Olympian of the Mind has a penchant for) Who has egg on their face now? (Rather than a carton of eggs on my feet after our toothpick tower collapsed…*chagrin*)

@Hai, Congrats! Mindtrap is indeed the missing game, aaaaaannnnnnnddddddddddddddddd…………..

You got the answer right!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Mathletes paid off after all. Zero is the answer because of sneaky lil’ (X-X).

@inmarg Nice job on Strat’s Epic Gaming Quiz – sorry I came late to the game but was still playing at Painkiller Jane at this point. Beaten to the punch as I was still punchy

@Strats I did know DC Dice and Ghost Stories and knew Battlestar but am unfamiliar with the expansions (actually I need to play Battlestar again – played it twice – once wrong and the other time with the wrong group of people)

Note to self: Play Battlestar and hope Spartacus is as good as it sounds when the retool it as X-Men (or just play The Boy’s copy)

@Strat’s Epic Game Quiz let’s see if I can bat clean up.

Hrrrmmmm…if I am following the sequence properly the answer would be ZERO 🙂 It technically should be a gigantic FOIL to the nth problem but the secret (X-X) would create a null set that would make the whole shebang zero out. Where would such a question be found? I am guessing Mindtrap or something akin to that but I used to love just doing Mindtrap cards so I’m going with that from my heart of hearts.

Now I just hope ol @Strats is still considering this a viable thread as now I need to know if ditching Cheer Squad for Mathletes and Olympics of the Mind was worth it 😛

I got in seven games of The Builders: Middle Ages, and I like it. It is an inexpensive game in a small tin (about 5″x 5″x 1.5″) that plays well with two. It is somewhat like Splendor, which is another of my favorites. I am sure I will be playing The Builders: Middle Ages often in the coming weeks.

We had a 5 hr 7 person game of Spartacus using both expansions. We started with one influence and had two Primus’s. Super fun even being that long. Never got Spartacus in the arena, but we did get Gannicus, and Theocolese out in the arena quite a few times. That was Friday

We always do a Boardgame night on Tuesdays in Palatine, IL at Durty Nelies. We call it toggleGaming, it is free and there are hundreds of games and usually over 100 people playing them. This week I played Walking Dead (Comic version) Boss Monster 2 the next Level and Spyfall. It is always a good time, open to the public and free (other than your beer and food)

Congrats inmarg! All correct so far. And you beat everybody else to the punch!

#4 is an old party game not listed on this site. Let’s see if anybody can figure it out (and/or answer the question…).

Last weekend was Epic Game Day at the homestead. Which means another quiz…

Epic Game Day quotes (one from each game, can you guess them?):

1 – Should I go to the graveyard to save the green monk or stay here and exorcise this Black Widow?

2 – It’s official. I am now President, Admiral and C.A.G. You better pray I’m a human. (Name expansion for bonus points!)

3 – Your Queen is almost trapped I will finish her off with my Spider.

4 – (Actual question from game, answer for bonus!) What is the product of the following series? (X-A) x (X-B) x (X-C) x (X-D)….(X-Z)

5 – I have one mask energy saved after I buy Zatanna. Your turn.

I got to play a 5 player game of Battlestar Galactica with Pegasus and Cylon Base ships. It had been over a year since I played this and first time with the Cylon Base ship. I really enjoyed myself and liked the Base ship. I liked it even more when half way thru the game I became a Cylon and just before that happened I executed a player who turned out to be the other Cylon!! The Cylons won! Love this game!!

It’s been a retro weekend mixed with more recent stuff. Friday was AD Astra, Yesterday was Galactic Emperor, Settlers of Catan: ST, and Splendor. Today will be Heroclix, Glass Road and who knows what else we will fit in. Pouring Rain outside makes it a good day for gaming.

Just found this site today. Love it so far! I got my birthday presents two days early yesterday. (Long story). I got Forbidden Desert, Tsuro of the Seas, and Five Tribes! All have been on my wish list for awhile. We played Tsuro last night and it was much cooler than the regular version. Tonight , me and my sons will play Five Tribes. So looking forward to this game! And tomorrow will be Forbidden Desert and hopefully more Five Tribes!

Just put in a few games of star realms and gave small world its first try. Might play a bit more star realms. Looks like it could be a great quick fix game.
