Things have been very busy lately, so I don’t know if I will even have time for some Gravity Maze this weekend.

Light gaming weekend as I had some events to attend.
Friday: Champions of Midgard, Dead of Winter & Lord of the Rings,LCG
Sunday: Squeezed in a couple solo games of Lord of the Rings,LCG.
We took off for the mountains and spent the weekend snowboarding, but I brought along Tiny Epic Kingdoms for downtime. I love the small footprint and equally small box of the games in this series. Strategic depth with minimal mess!
Lots of gaming done but not as advertised as one person was unable to go so instead of Mansions and Mage Knight it turned into some competitive games instead.
Blackout Hong Kong, Pulsar 2849, Antiquity, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Gizmos, Downforce, Shadows Amsterdam, Deception, Time’s up, Illusion, Monster Match and a whole lot of Just one.
Elida: you are a gaming demon!!
Got in Red november and Crypt as well! Yay!
I have played some solo games today:
Las Vegas (as 3 player game…)
Birds of a feather
Terraforming Mars
Raiders of the North Sea
I want to get some more games in before night time.
This week I went dice crazy to start. We opened up by dusting of Blueprints which is an interesting dice draft played over 3 rounds where getting the building exactly right might not be the best strategy. Buildings are scored based off the dice you stack while bonuses make grabbing specific numbered or colored dice might net you more points than having the highest value building for the round.
Next up was Dice Forge which did the build your own dice thing way better than Rattlebones was able to. It plays well and doesn’t overstay its welcome like the previously mentioned Rattlebones seems to
After 2 warm up lighter games we decided to go all in with a game of Signorie. One of my favorite What’s Your Game published heavy euros. This is a dice drafting euro where you run a powerful family who uses their offspring to either create diplomats or brides to be sent to far away nobility throughout Italy
After that we abandoned dice for a play of Great Western Trail with the expansion. I enjoyed myself but took a beating as I decided to play a more stop and smell the roses approach while everyone else went for a more focused play. Still had fun though and got a few heavy hits including snatching up a 7 point cow and getting the end game scored for houses in districts and people hired.
Legendary. I’ve come back to this game a few times now. I seem to play this game in chunks. The new Ant Man expansion helped revitalize it for me this time.
Going on a cabin trip in the mountains this weekend with very likely inclusion of Descent and Mansions of Madness as well as a promise I’ve made on teaching Mage Knight to a participant.
I am going to play Star Realms with some of the expansion packs.
I’d like to try Spirit Island again, but I think we’ll have to make up some easier rules. Can’t seem to beat it, and that’s making it not very fun. I like that it’s a strategic game, but maybe it requires a bit TOO much thinking. I’m thinking of maybe trying something like Pandemic Legacy – where if you lose a game, you get to start the next game with some advantage, and if you win, the next game is harder.
Maybe a bit of Splendor, if the brain isn’t in the mood to think too much.
