This weekend I’ll be trying out Safranito and Pamplona – Viva San Fermín! with my family.
I also just discovered an iPad game called Assassin’s Creed Recollection. It’s a “digital” CCG with real-time elements, and it’s very well done! So I’ll be playing that in my spare time! I couldn’t find a website for it, but here is a great trailer for the game.

We are in the works of adding digital board games to the site, the trick is creating game pages that cater to them. (ie: showing available platforms, differentiating them from their physical versions, etc.)

I don’t think the rules to Mage Knight will ultimately be that bad, but getting people to agree to learn them might be tough.
Magic: The gathering, EDH format. And definitely board games, though it’s a friend’s birthday and he’s calling the titles.

Yep, the instruction book looks a lot like an FFG rulebook…. long winded. We slogged through Android and figured out how to play… I figure we could perform open-book brain surgery after that fiasco. Love me some FFG… hate their rulebooks.

Granny, After sitting down with the rules, I’m becoming worried that I won’t be able to get other people to sit down long enough to try Mage Knight. The walkthrough time may be prohibitive, and I doubt we’ll have time to try the walkthrough and an actual game. It’s sounding like jumping directly into even a short version of the game, without walkthrough, would be even uglier. I’m hoping I won’t get stuck just reviewing the solo game!
@ WerrWaaa, Our plans are to support digital board games for PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PS3, iPhone, iPad and Android.
The general rule of thumb is that we will add games that are digital replicas of physical games. I say “general” because it can’t be that cut and dry. Elder Sign: Omens isn’t exactly the same as the physical Elder Sign game, but it still maintains the board game feel and mechanics. The Assassin’s Creed Recollection game I mentioned in this article won’t have a physical version (to my knowledge), but it definitely feels and plays like a Collectible Card Game, and would be one we’d add to the site.
In the end, we want to maintain our place as being a site about board games. Now that technology is allowing us to enjoy board games in a digital world, we want to support that and stay current!
@Andy… let me know how Dreadfleet goes. I haven’t put it together yet. Also, waiting on Mage Knight too. I can’t want to play that one.
I’ll be GM’n a game Warhammer FRP tonight. I had a character killed last week, so we’ll have to get his new character up and running.
I’d like to play Eclipse this weekend, if it gets here tomorrow. C’mon FedEx!
The family will play a game of Flash Point again and maybe a game of The Road to Canterbury. We always play a round of Dixit (my 9 year old adores this).
Hoping to play some combination (or at least one of), Mage Knight, Urban Sprawl, and/or Dreadfleet this weekend.
Would you be supporting platform and PC board games, or specifically iOS and Android games? That being said, I’m rolling out more Ascension this weekend. Chaos in the Old World might get dusted off as well. Maybe some more Warmachine if I can find the time!
