@stratagon Well the expansion isn’t CATAN: T&A (even if it has become the frat boy of euros) but one letter up. The scenario, I believe, shares initials with Mr. T not getting on a plane. 🙂
@inmarg Correct family of games! It is a scenario in one of the expansions. I am unsure if my clue is specific enough for someone to narrow down though. Some of the mechanics may repeat.
Had a big games day with friends yesterday.
Lady Luck was with us as we managed to win Sentinels, Pandemic and Mysterium. Also had lots of laughs with Dixit, Fluxx and Googly Eyes!
Recent Epic game day quiz. Which ones can you guess?
1. You may have captured Princess Leia but it won’t matter if you can’t find my hidden base before time runs out.
2. I rolled 2 hits and a critical hit. Your shields are gone so you better hope you roll an evade or two.
3. I use two gold to buy an ore. I need to get a development card to take care of some of these barbarians that keep popping up from built settlements.
4. My apprentices aren’t happy about waking up early, but it’s the only way we will be able to get the right paints from the market.
5. Use your hearts before your claws or they won’t work after you move into the city.
@Hai: It was a “friend of a friend”‘s Kickstarter, so I backed it to be supportive regardless of the game quality — that it turned out to be fun to play was a nice result. It’s got a strong ingredients-gathering worker placement style, similar to a game like Scoville, with the added strategy of grabbing “guest judges” to score more points, and picking the recipes you work towards accordingly. Our group of six got into the whole “Iron Chef” vibe the game is based on.
@Jeff W So To Serve Man turned out decent? I liked the idea when it was on the Kick, but I was a bit wary of it from a first time company and thought it might hit some bumps. It gave me a body part Viticulture vibe which made me laugh
Yesterday I played Splendor, Kingdom Builder with the Crossroads expansion(twice), Defenders of the Realm with the new Characters and Second ed. Dragon expansion and Roll Through the Galaxy with the Blind Ambition expansion(also twice).
@Strats Barbarian BAM!
@Hai Yep, nailed it!

I haven’t played it but from what I’ve heard #3 sounds like catan: merchants of Europe?
@ Cyberman and Stargazer, You guys have all but number 3 correct.
It is a classic with a variant added on.
More Marvel Dice Masters … picked up the Spider-man set on the w/e, so incorporated that in with the other sets.
@Strat: Agree with Cyberman on 1,2 & 5. 3 is Clash of Cultures, 4 is Fresco
Played some Dead of Winter and 7 Wonders this past weekend with some of my favourite people.
@stratagon: 1. Star Wars Rebellion; 2. X-Wing; 5. King of Tokyo. Sorry – can’t get 3 and 4 🙁

Sooo, I was at Conclave of Gamers, mostly getting footage for my youtube channel, but I did get to sit down and play a few things:
Champions of Midgard
7 Summits
Flash Point Rescue
and Caverna on a digital touch table.
There some minis and rpgs as well…

Saturday I got in some more DOTR with the new characters, Chimera and Game of Gnomes.

Messed about with Wrath of the Cosmos on the Sentinels Digital Dojo and played Millennium Blades with our Bladers gang.
We played 4 games of Dominion and a game of Hospital Rush.
DC DBG (Heroes Unite), a perennial favorite. Also played a recent KS arrival, How to Serve Man, which was a lot of fun.
Played a couple solo games of Viticulture
