Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 isn’t just coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, it’s now on the iPad!
When Magic: The Gathering first came out on video game consoles we were extremely happy with how well executed it was. The user interface was great, and it really streamlined playing quick games of Magic, but in a good way. It also allowed you to play solo or online.
Wizards of the Coast has done a brilliant job bringing this “digital” Magic experience to the iPad. I was happy to discover that it does work just fine on my first generation iPad, but I haven’t unlocked the full game yet or played it online.
Did I mention the game is FREE in the app store ! There is absolutely no reason to not get it, unless you want to avoid downloading a game that could take hours and hours out of your life!
The free version is locked, which gives you access to 3 decks and the campaign mode. If you like it (which you will!) you can unlock the full game (an In-App purchase that currently costs $9.99). The full game gives you online multiplayer, 7 more decks with cards that can be unlocked through gameplay, more game modes and more available cards through other in-app purchases.
Have picked this up for my iPad, and for the xbox. Really enjoying it, it has been years since I played magic. This is a great adaptation, and works really well on the iPad. Well worth the price.
I hope they do a version for Android.
