I love Escape. The first one. I played it for the first time with my baby niece when I met her for the first time when she was 7 years old (lets not get into my semi-tragic life) and we both had such a blast. I guess it holds a very important place in my heart due to outside circumstances. That being said, I played Escape: Zombie City at Essen last year and was SO disappointed. It wasn’t just a bad rethemeing, it made a great game worse in my opinion.
Hi Guys,
Do you think is there any way we can get the many variants of Risk added to the site as I have a few of them and would love to see other peoples thoughts on them.
I got them when I started my love of board games and bought a few before trying other games. I have The Walking Dead, Godstorm, Nostalgia, Balance of Power and I or my friends will probably pick up 2210 and Halo or Metal gear Solid if we ever feel like expanding but keeping it familiar.
@Hai: I think I might have all of their games except for Dungeon Dice. Should I bring Belfort & it’s expansion to Gen Con so we can play a few rounds? 🙂
On Aquasphere or pretty much any game by Stefan Feld; I’m usually holding back a bit on the praise to someone who is not a big fan of eurogames, and especially victory point salads 😉
@Paladin I think Aquasphere went down before I embraced Worker Placement mechanic when heavily salted by the Mrs. Dash of Ameritrash theming. The controversial gift of Lords of Waterdeep was a dangerous gateway that I enjoyed too much and now I seek out the Worker Placement mechanic and the vast sea of tantalizing opportunity that drains away round by round. (Unless served on the Euro saltine of not-so tantalizing thematic opportunity of baking bread or nibbling on tulips and the like.)I’m grabbing Alien Frontiers and Kingsburg for my shelf, desperately seeking Belfort, and now researching Aquasphere & Far Space
Oh and I got a news flash from your Besties and the Jolly Dragon of Tasty Minstrel last night that they are having a 50% sale on some stuff to pay for goods in the pipeline. So you might wanna check out their store/Amazon listing 🙂
@Hai AquaSphere is REALLY good. My brain always hurts afterwards — you will spend the game wanting to complete 5 or 6 different tasks, but maybe manage two or THREE if you’re lucky. 100% worth picking up.
Please do back Far Space Foundry, though after watching several videos and understanding the game play I feel like the only similarities are the game board shape and the availability of multiple actions per turn, which you’ll need to optimize for success.
TMG is one of my favorite companies, but geez, guys — where’s my Kings of Air & Steam expansion already? Guess I’ll just go play Scoville while I wait…
Hmmmm…this Aquasphere seems to be the talk of the town and yet it didn’t really zap me when it was on The Kick. Perhaps Far Space Foundry will be my second chancer. (Although Aquasphere is Tasty Minstrel and I have liked the cut of their jib before…)
Anyone who enjoys games by Stefan Feld should check out Aquasphere.
Tres’ Masonic
Sorry this one is so short everybody – work has been surprisingly rough the last several weeks and I didn’t get up nearly as much as I would have liked.
@Paladin – thanks for the offer – I’ll email you.
Oh! I wonder who requested AquaSphere. Someone awesome, I bet.
Thanks for the update, @AD. If there’s ever a way I can help increase the library’s coverage, just let me know.
