Enigma is a tile-laying game with a twist. Players choose a tile seeking to connect powers cells of the same color to score points. However each tile is also a puzzle that must be solved to be placed. If players solve the puzzle then they win the right to place the tile, expanding their system of power cells and potential points. Fail to solve the puzzle and you must discard your tile. When one player reaches 15 points, the player with the most points wins…
This sounds intriguing and I am curious to hear how kids (who like puzzle challenges) will respond to this game. Will have to be on the lookout for this in my local game shop. π
Finally a type of game that I believe I have good chance to win π
I like the idea of the game but I’m not sure yet if I have to get it now. I really want to try it before buying it.
I eyeballed this game at my FLGS and found the idea of merging tile placement with ‘Mindtrap & Mensa’ puzzling but feared that limited tile sets would lead to puzzle memorization after a few plays π
This looks like an interesting twist on tile placement games. Knowing what you are going to get, but having to earn it sounds fun. Not a game I am going to track down, but defiantly something I will play if I gat the chance. Great write-up.
