I’m not a big fan of furries, but Migration is a brilliant strategy game that didn’t make the list, with a theme that I can overlook:

On the other hand Tower, halfway down the list, is a REALLY solid game with some GREAT components and a very passionate creator. It’s also got an amazing price and I really recommend checking it out.

Backing Kingdom Builder and considering Oddball Aeronauts.

I got a chance to play Heroes of Metro City the other day at the FLGS. It’s my second time playing the game. I really liked it. The deckbuilding mechanic has enough of a unique twist that it was fun, it felt a little more co-op than Legendary, and it really felt like you were a hero battling villains. They nailed the theme. I went in on the whole game+expansion bundle.

Arcadia Quest looks like a kinda-lame version of Super Dungeon Explore, with not-as-cool minis. SDE is supposedly coming out with a kickstarter in the next month or so for an expansion/new-entry-point that adds full co-op. I’ll be waiting for that.

I’m still very interested in Game Developers. Those Character Meeples look pretty cool as well.

I like the look of Town Center, and had a very good experience backing Gear & Piston from the same publisher — a friendly and honest bunch who got the game out on time, had problems with a distribution partner in the USA, and went out of their way to make it up to US pledgers.

They have an odd plan for running this project. As funds go up they will be upgrading the game for everyone, but if the upgrades get too hefty they will up the minimum pledge a bit. If you get in early you avoid the price rises but get the benefits. They realise this may discourage late pledgers but they say they want to concentrate on getting a great product. Besides they are already ~200% funded!

@Chopper Dan … Yeah, it is strange the rules aren’t up yet, considering the art looks close to complete. There is a high level game play video up now (looks interesting), but it is still not adequate. This game is on the bubble for me. However, if the rulebook proves the game to be great, I might consider the Deluxe game. I like Yedo a lot, or I wouldn’t have this one queued up.

UPDATE: There is a comprehensive review of Kill Shakespeare that has me a little more excited about it: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1130270/connect-more-to-kill-shakespeare-i-thought-shake

I’m in on Kill Shakespeare and Tower. While I enjoy Yedo, I’m hoping to see some rules for Kill Shakespeare before the campaign wraps up to get a better view of how the game plays. Otherwise I might just wait till it hits retail and wait for some reviews.

Lagoon, Takaido, and Kill Shakespeare are currently in my queue. I think they’ll stay. Kill Shakespeare is by the folks who designed Yedo, Takaido is beautiful, and Lagoon looks fantastic in both art and game play.

I also like the idea of Inceptor, but struggle a bit to fully comprehend the game. I guess that’s a bit like the first few times I saw the related movie.

Heroes of Metro City: Sidekicks and Storylines Expansion will be rolling into its final week soon and, most likely, it’s going to be a photo finish. Two of the supporters (me being one of them) recently posted reviews of the game here if anyone is on the considering it.

For those that like old-school miniatures (and mainly metal miniatures) there are a couple of days left for the second installment of the Tome of Horrors line. If you like bizarre creatures (like a Froghemoth, Flumph, Yellow Musk Zombie and Creeper, Crabmen), this one could be for you:

I don’t have a need for them, but the Character Meeples campaign looks fantastic, and I’m very pleased to see them succeeding! While not my thing, the hobby feels to me like it needs items like this to be available.

I will be interested to see how Slaughterball, Dreadball Xtreme and Guild Ball all turn out.

Tokaido sure looks pretty…

I was pretty sad to see Dreadball Xtreme stop Slaughterball dead in its tracks this week (Slaughterball even went backward for 2 or 3 consecutive days). I knew Dreadball Xtreme was coming, but hoped the competition would boost Slaughterball rather than hamper it. I grabbed an early bird of Dreadball Xtreme just in case Slaughterball misses funding, so I’ll probably end up with both games (Slaughterball is definitely my preference). Not an ideal use of money.

Add to these Arcadia Quest and March is looking expensive. I’ve never backed a CMON campaign before, and I know many people hate the way they run their Kickstarters… so I figured I’d let them burn me once to find out what the anger is all about. Just kidding… the game looks great.

I also backed Inceptor when it launched because I loved the movie it’s clearly based on (unofficially?). But I’m worried about its quality as a game (and I don’t love how black-and-white it is), so I’m looking forward to watching any videos they have available this weekend to (hopefully) allay those fears.

A Collector’s Edition of Tokaido is set to launch today, so I’ll add that to the list once it does. [update] It’s up!
