King of Tokyo
You can’t over-think a game like this. It’s a fast-paced dicefest that’s perfect for just about any gaming group. While it’s light enough to remain a filler game in my collection, it’s got enough energy in its little box to justify multiple plays to fill a whole gaming session.
Components are top notch: Huge chunky dice, cool monster standees, glossy cards, a nice short rulebook. Nothing really to complain about here. Except for the lack of huge pre-painted monster minis, but hey, no game is perfect.
In closing, this is the type of game that makes me desperately anxious for my daughter to get a little older so we can throw dice together. This is just a solid, elegant, family-friendly game.
