Was able to try Copycat today. Not a terrible game, but I’m not sure I would play it over any of the three games that inspired it (Dominion, Agricola, or Through the Ages).
While the deck building of Dominion and worker placement of Agricola clearly come through, it should be stressed that the Through the Ages part is only the card buying track, which works fine, but Copycat definitely doesn’t attempt to incorporate the play or feel of Through the Ages.
I wonder what my opinion would have been of Copycat had I played it before any of the other games. As much as I originally enjoyed the mechanics of Dominion and Agricola, I wonder if I would have thought Copycat was a fantastic game…
We took a trip to Cool Stuff Inc’s Maitland Warehouse store today. We dropped about $300 altogether. The question is: what are we going to play first?!? I’m gunning for Arkham Horror, with some Munchkin thrown in to lighten things up.
We played several games yesterday… Batman: Gotham City Strategy Game, Condottiere, Qin, and Samurai Sword. Hopefully, we’ll get some Terra Mystica and Bora Bora in before the weekend is up!
Tried introducing Pandemic to @finched‘s family since we’re at the beach. Not the most successful of ventures. May try again with Smash Up. Got in a couple games of Dominion on our own.
My gaming group meets tomorrow, depending on how many show up we hope to play Castle Ravenloft, Red November, 7 Wonders, and Infiltration, or maybe just Rune Age and Runebound.
Heroclix,Island Fortress, Seasons with the new Expansion, Lords of Waterdeep, Ascension and Goblins Drool.
We’ll be playing Pathfinder’s Rise of the Runelords.
Let’s see if Esme, my anis changeling fighter, can survive the Misgivings.
I would like to squeeze in a Galaxy Trucker game in this weekend , maybe a game of X-wing but that remains to be seen

7-Player BSG day. While we wait for some that have other commitments, 4 of us will probably play Manhattan Project and maybe something else.

This weekend is still up in the air, but yesterday I convinced my boss that playing Forbidden Island at work would be a good team-building exercise.
Seems like that should be worth some kind of Gamer XP bonus, right? Who’s with me?!
It’s a cooperative game weekend, featuring Flash Point & Star Trek Expeditions.
Terra Mystica and a D&D Next!
