This weekend our focus will be on games that take an hour or less to play. This way we can play lots of different games over the weekend! Possible candidates are Scalawag!, Eight-Minute Empire: Legends, Coup, Hollywood and Ancient Terrible Things.
What are you playing this weekend?
So, it is Train Game Night at my local game group. We’ll be playing Trains (of course), Kings of Air and Steam, Russian Railroads, TransAmerica, Ticket to Ride, and others. I’m also hoping to get a game of Ancient Terrible Things and Darkest Night to the table. I also got The Duke and Marvel Dice Masters. We might take those out for a spin as well. We’ll see!
Happy Gaming Weekend everybody! ~ Granny
My wife’s birthday is tomorrow, and that happens to coincide with the release of a new set of Magic: The Gathering. So we just picked up a box of Journey Into Nyx boosters, and we will be drafting and playing sealed deck.
Trying to get to my friendly, local game cafe GameHaus in L.A. today to play some stuff with my gf.
I’m thinking we may finally try out Android: Netrunner.
Going to play something tonight. Dunno what yet, but I guess it will be a light weighter like Carcassonne or the like. Early next week (my game groups weekly) we’re trying Kings of Tokyo for the first time. Looking forward to it.
Hopefully getting our long rumored game of Antiquity in, though it has needed to be cancelled the last two times we’ve tried.
I will post my weekend plans later, but:
@Aaron Simmons: I just want to recommend a little website called CoolStuffInc.com — where you are going to get a LOT more value for your gaming dollar than Amazon.
Just be careful, because the “Free shipping for $100 or more!” can lead you to mentally justifying WAY MORE GAMES than you intended when you logged in, and then your girlfriend might look at you disdainfully.
Good luck with King of Tokyo and Castle Panic — both AWESOME games that have provided me many hours of fun!
Definitely playing some X-Wing for May the Fourth. Probably get some solo session of Lord of the Rings in as well. And whatever else I can get my wife to play in our spare time.
@Aaron Simmons: You’re in for a good time with King of Tokyo. It’s pretty random and best served with lots of stompy monster noises.
I picked up some new cards for my Magic: The Gathering zombie deck that I’ve had kicking around, so I’m hoping to get in a few games with the lady. Besides that, I’d like to play some Dominion and The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game. On the other hand, it’s beautiful here in Massachusetts right now, so I may just go hiking!
King of Tokyo and Castle Panic arrive from Amazon today. Looking forward to a lot of gaming fun with the kids this weekend! I’m especially looking forward to trying out King of Tokyo, it sounds really fun.
It is my brother’s 31st birthday this weekend! Starting tonight, we will probably break out these games this weekend: Adventure Time: Card Wars, Bang! The Dice Game, Blueprints, Bohnanza, Coconuts, Discworld, Dread Curse, Hanabi, Inkognito, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Deck-Building Game, The Resistance: Avalon (for larger parties), and Saboteur. Can’t wait!
