Magic: The Gathering is such a great trading card game. We wanted to do it justice on our site by going beyond just having one page for the game, yet not making its core game and expansions too difficult or cumbersome to navigate. So we’ve broken it down into a “main area“, and then each expansion set also has its own page. (We’ve added sets from October 2009 to current)
Because a big part of Magic involves customizing your deck, we felt there was no need to brake things down into the intro packs, booster packs and fat packs. Instead you can customize your deck however you like (which you’ll do anyway) and can then review, discuss and give tips about the entire expansion set!
This is just the beginning for featuring Magic on our site. There is much more to add, like the extended expansion sets, duel decks and more!
We invite you to check out the Magic: The Gathering main area page, where you can find videos that will introduce you to the game and it’s core mechanics.
Enjoy!
Intimidating game because of ALL the stuff that has already dropped. Where to start and why?
Been watching this page for a while, and I’ve noticed that the expansion pages have trailed off. We’re currently missing Dragon’s Maze, Theros, and Born of the Gods, with Journey Into Nyx looming on the horizon. I have some strong thoughts on Theros (both the set and the block) that I’d love to post as a set-specific review.
Bummed not to see a Shadowmoor expansion page (I was one of the designers of the set), but I suppose that’s a personal gripe. You’ve done a solid job of presenting the broad view of such an enormous game.
Excellent! Excellent! I know you are buried. I’m guessing you stuffing the ideas away in Evernote or some other tracking device for when you hit the Lotto. 🙂 Lucky Numbers don’t fail me now!
You just keep unveiling things on our to-do list! I’m a big fan of the board games that are being put on touch pad devices, as well as magic’s games on the xbox and ps3. There is definitely a place for that movement on this site. We just want to draw the line that if the game doesn’t exist in a physical format, it won’t be added here.
That’s a really nice addition. Is it possible to add online games?
