Zombicide

I’m not a huge zombie fan, I don’t go out and buy everything zombie the moment it comes out. However, my wife and I are always looking for great co-op games. Zombicide shines in this area of “co-op-ed-ness”.
You play as a survivor and there are times you may have to sacrifice one to save the group, or change tactics due to too many zombies in the area you are trying to head to. The game has a sorta dungeon crawler mentality to it, you can level up…this is done by killing zombies and each zombie gives out a certain amount of experience, and also obtaining objectives which are placed during setup depending on which mission you choose. You can also perform a search action which enables The other fun component of the game are the survivors and like snow flakes, no two are the same. One might be able to start the game with a pistol but the other can move more per action point. The game in of it self is very easy to learn and get this….the instructions make sense! There is already an F.A.Q. on the website guillotinegames.com, they also have many, many more missions that are print and play.

Overall this is a great game, the weapons you obtain work well with the game and the different zombie types add a balanced complexity level as well. Some missions last a lot longer then others and each seem to need a different type of strategy to win. If you like the whole zombie theme you should buy this game, if your looking for a very fun team oriented co-op game-this game is a must buy. If you enjoy boardgames with miniatures, this is also a great game to own, since it comes with many miniatures in the box. My wife and I enjoy this game and we are excited to see what expansions will add to this already very fun game.

Short:
Star Wars space battles that are fought on a 3’x3′ space (typically) one side is rebels and the other side empire. Ive been a miniatures gamer/modeler for about 15 years now, mainly grew up with Games Workshop stuff (warhammer fantasy, warhammer 40,000). Their models are on the top for quality and detail, but this game is right up there with them in quality and looks! I couldn’t believe how greatly detailed these models are and they come painted, not just a base coat painted, but detailed and even some gloss paint was added for the glass of the cockpit of each fighter. The game play is super easy to pick up and you don’t need a 24′ tape measure either. The base game includes thick card board measuring markers for each move every different ship can make. Fantasy Flight Games has always impressed me with the quality of their games and this one is no exception.
For the base game you get one X Wing and two Tie Fighters. Each ship you can choose a character for that individual ship. So for instance, Luke Skywalker can be a pilot of an X-Wing and he has a special ability- but the X Wing ship itself still holds the same stat line any other X Wing character card has (mainly health, shields, fire power all stay the same whether its Luke or a rookie pilot) Luke is also able to “upgrade” his ship with a droid, or missiles, even having better flying skills is an option. But all of those come at a price, like all other mini games, everything has a point system, and X-wing is no different. So you want Luke and all the possible upgrades he can take…Well that equals 2 Tie Fighters plus both those fighters can have named pilots as well. Named pilots are better then rookie, or tie pilot due to (as stated above) their special ability. A special ability might be roll one extra dice when attacking.

My wife and I enjoy this game A LOT, she gave this game to me for Christmas and already have purchased another base game and a few expansions. The main reason people are buying more then one base game is that it can be cheaper then buying their expansion counter parts, and having two base games gives you more dice and rulers to have. A side note, my wife isn’t a Star Wars fan, she doesn’t like “army games” as she puts it and she hates games that are complicated to play. She still enjoys this game!

This game I bought for my wife and I to play- mainly because its a co-op game. Most co-op games we have or have played aren’t quite like this one. Sentinels of the Multiverse is an actual co-op game where you have to play out attacks, maybe the villain has taken away a few hit points and one of the heroes has a group heal, or that crazy doomsday device is in play and you want to destroy it before it destroys you! First off the game says 2-5 players. From our experience, in a two player game both players should try taking two heroes each for a total of four heroes. With our first game we both lost our hero after the third turn and where trying to figure out where we went wrong. We just finished saving the day and defeating the villain with 4 heroes in play. Granted there is a bit much to remember with all the cards in play but overall we both really enjoy this game.

It is a card game where you start out drawing 4 cards from your hero deck and able to play one card a turn (unless a card says otherwise) then you can use a power (which is labeled on some of your cards as “power”) then you can draw 1 card and thats a turn. Villains and environment have similar turns but the villain always starts first and the environment ends the game round. The game ends if the villain is defeated OR if ALL the heroes are incapacitated. Heroes are incapacitated by loosing all their HP (hit points) which is labeled on each hero card, once a heroes HP is = or <0 then they loose all their cards in play and the player flips over their heroes 'stat' card. The stat card will give each hero 3 different things they can do a turn, but only choose one of those options a turn. Think of it in 'real comic book life' the hero has been beaten up pretty bad but is still able to defend him/herself, all the while the other hero(es) are fighting as hard as they can to defeat the villain.

Overall:
1. If you like comics you should enjoy this game, the artwork puts you in the comics, the font is the typical comic book font, each card is very animated and the villains and environments are just too cool and even funny at time to draw a card and read the outcome.
2. If you like co-op games, you should love this game
3. If your looking for a simple but challenging game you should enjoy this game
