Colonists are one of the most vital early-game resources. With Hospice you can build a quarry and have it be useful to you, all in the same turn.

Hospice is attainable early and remains extremely effective even into the late game.

Your ship is bursting at the seams with treasure, ready to deposit at Treasure Island. But no! The blue player fires off a Consort! Dont forget, if you are anchored at Treasure Island, it is your option to bury treasure. If you bury none, the Consort player gets nothing!

You essentially waste a turn this way, but if you have a lot of treasure to bury, this is very effective indeed.

Often times other players will open a bid on a power plant at face value and when bidding increments at 1 or 2 elektro, prices tend to inflate quite high.

If you really want it, first decide how much you are willing to pay…either open a bid or counter bid at +10 or even 20 elektro, without batting an eye, and you just might scare the competition out.

My experience has been, with this method, I end up paying less on the plant and subsequently, if the plant is efficient, less on resources too.

While initial placement is crucial, subsequent placement is equally important. Often the temptation is to double up on high probability numbers, but increasing the amount of numbers you collect on is equally as effective.
