Pandemic
This was our family’s first coop game when kids were 11 and 15. For once they worked together rather than attacking each other so the whole experience is more pleasant. And you really do have to cooperate, deciding who will go to different trouble spots around the globe, how to use special abilities, and who will collect each color of disease. Game sets up pretty quickly, so you get to start play quickly. The different character abilities give some replay ability, but still the game never gets old even though play mechanic is relatively simple and is largely the same. Pandemic is fairly hard to beat but everyone still enjoys playing even when we lose several in a row. Three players seems to be our ideal number.
