This is game is fun due to the variety of cards that can be bought in the line up. Thematically, its doesnt make sense since for example Superman doesnt need Aquaman’s Trident to fight. But I think the character you play isnt as important as the deck building aspect where you build your deck the way want to play it and even obtain villains to use in your deck. This is what I find most interesting about this game. The fact that everything is mashed together. The DC theme makes it interesting, playing superheroes, using other peoples power, obtaining locations that belong to others. I think the comic book theme although not staying true to the reality of the characters is why I keep playing it over and over.

This is quick game because once youre familiar with the cards, you take your turn very fast. The artwork is excellent, comic book style. Makes me want to by the expansions immediately to add more variety to the game. The information on the cards are laid out functionally with good clear text. I find Marvel Legendary cards a bit difficult to read compared to this one when the text are overlaid into the graphics.

This game has a lot of player interaction for it to be interesting. You can even get to a point of argument that may just come short of a heated argument. You’ll have to lie if you’re a spy. You have to accuse others of being a spy. You need to do all these thing to throw off the scent of those accusing you of being a spy.

These are the kind of things that happen in my games of Resistance. Kids love this game, they’ll argue and argue until the crow flies. You just need to have a good poker face.

4) Kids can easily play this game
5) Easy to set up
6) More Strategy and slightly less luck
7) Plenty of variety in the cards

Overall, this is a fun fast game to play with your friend and family that everyone can enjoy !

Dixit has it moments. It can potentially be a very fun game and it can also be a little unexciting. That all depends on the people you play with. Imagination is key and understanding the opponents psyche is important. Ultimately, its a race to the finish. The key of the game is trying to get at least one other opponent to guess your card correctly. It cant be too obvious and it also cant be too difficult. During your turn, you must try to give a clue that only one other person knows. That way, you can score your points to move your bunny ahead.

All in all, it is fun game. It can also be fun to play with non-gamers I think. Or at least try to introduce them into the games. PLaying with children is also good. I rarely get to play these nowadays, mostly because my friends want to play something else. Still, a good game. Good artwork. Nice big cards.

Smash Up

Smash Up is fun, exciting, and full of variety in a card game.
Choosing factions is a blast. Most of the time we gather 1 card from each faction and deal them to the players as an alternative to the rulebook method. In some cases, the player may choose to discard the faction they dont want to play with when they are dealt 3 or 4 faction cards depending on how player there are.
It has a lot of replayability in a sense that smashing up the different factions can result in different type of gameplay strategies,
Getting the right combination of factions is important and so is knowing how to play them. Certain factions do not have to ability to distrupt other players progress but alternatively they have other skills that help you gain advantage. Pirates and Ninjas for example have the ability to destroy whereas Zombies has less of those kind of abilities. I would say that all factions is played differently. Zombies can never die and thus can be played from the discard pile, Robots are many and help to support other robots on the bases, Pirates can move around between bases etc. In summary, all these different factions are well themed. One minor setback to game however is that it does not come with a counter to keep score. Which is why you must have the expansion to have a full experience. Nevertheless, this game is awesome !
