When we went to GenCon last year, I heard this game was going to be available in limited quantities. That’s the only reason I wanted to get myself a copy. A friend of mine was also getting a copy and he convinced me that the buzz he heard on the game was pretty good. I had no idea I was going to have as much fun as I did after I got it. I actually bought another Ninja game by AEG which I also enjoyed but not as much as this one.

There are many ways to win this game so your strategy can depend on how other players on playing. That in itself makes the game lots of fun and depending on who you play with, can change how you play the game.

I won’t go into details of how to play it but if you are looking for a fun game with many paths to victory try this one out. The Ninja theme adds a nice touch.

This is definitely one of my favorite 2 player Dungeon Crawlers out there. Actually, it’s one of my favorite 2 player games, period.

While playing the heroes, you need to roll a D6 for each player you control. The corresponding number you roll is what determines what kind of stats your characters will use for that turn. That concept alone was unique and so much fun for me. I haven’t seen that used in any other game thus far (it’s probably out there, but never heard seen it yet in any other game). On the other hand, playing the demons side also involves rolling die to assist you in picking what types of actions you can do on your turn. Either side is so much fun to play with.

I really enjoy that there are several scenarios available in the box. If you search online there are also more you can download and try on your own. This brings more variety to the game and just extends the life of an already great game. I haven’t tried the expansion yet but have heard great reviews about it.

If you are looking for a great 2 player Dungeon Crawler with awesome components (pre-painted minis FTW!) and a unique gameplay mechanic, look no further than Claustrophobia.

I became a fan of Ascension even before the card game came out. The art style intrigued me and I was looking forward to playing a game where I did not have to collect the cards in order to be able to play and enjoy the game. When I finally got my hands on the physical game, I was very happy of the outcome. The game is a great deck building game with a shorter setup and put away time.

Then the app came out and it was a no brainer for me to get it. This allowed me to play against my wife without having to set up cards and put away the cards. To my surprise, this game plays great online. The asynchronous play works perfectly for those on the go.

If you are looking for a deck building game or have never played a deck building game before, definitely check this game out. One of the best Card Game Apps in the App Store.
