Of all the games in my collection, this is likely the game that gets the most play. When someone says “do you want to play a game”, I just assume they mean Munchkin in one of it’s varied flavors.

The rules are not all that complex, but the variation in the rules caused by the card effects can make for some interesting conversation. At least every other game we are forced to vote on if something should be allowed, or not. The reality of this is that it is intentional. The game is designed to have some wiggle room between how the rules read and the actual game play based on the cards that are present. Add to this the many expansions and additions available and you can end up with quite the odd set of conditions.

This is the game I purchase to give to friends who have only played “standard” board or card games to introduce them to something new.
