The trick is to not miss it – it is in a basement, under a TD bank. Note that the map here misplace it a bit – it is on Spadina just south o Dundas.
Once you descend you find yourself in an extremely spacious, well-stocked, well-organized and well-priced store. Staff is helpful, atmosphere serene and you are sure to be heaving up some good loot up those stairs.
They hold board game nights every Tuesday and sell a wide selection of miniatures and board game components as well.
Highly recommended.
This is such a great store! We usually order online from them since we aren’t in Toronto, but we visit when we can. Excellent selection and friendly staff make it a great place to get your gaming fix.
I loved this store while living in Ontario. I now live in new brunswick and there isn’t much options, but meeple mart online is one of the best Canada has to offer price wise.
This store was an amazing find! It’s literally right around the corner from my apartment but I had no idea it was there. You have to know what you’re looking for because the sign is a bit small and the door is very non-descript. It’s clean, very well laid out, has a great selection (including a large miniatures section) and the nicest gaming area I’ve ever seen in a game store. Yes, it’s in a basement, but it’s a really NICE basement! The only problem is it’s a bit too close to me which facilitates some impulse buying. Actually, that’s not a bad problem to have!
I followed Meeplemart from their former cramped but cozy space in a warehouse loft on Carlaw to their new location on Spadina. The new digs are spacious and the prices remarkably low, especially for RPGs. If you live in TO and purchase a fair number of games every year, it’s worth getting Meeplemart’s VIP loyalty card.
This store is awesome! I got a chance to buy couple of things when i visit my cousins. Their online bussiness is also very nice and neat as well as the store itself. I highly recommend.
I have been many times to Meeplemart, though it’s been a while since I have visited (Starting a family take a lot of time, also we moved outside of Toronto proper so it’s tougher to plan those trips).
The atmosphere is quite enjoyable, you can find and meet lots of new people. The owner even specializes sometimes so a few days are miniatures games, others are just plain board games and he even hosts the odd Magic: The Gathering tournament.
The prices for games are quite excellent and you get a variety of useful game accessories as well (card protecters, counter trays, etc.). The inventory is supremely varied for party games, casual games, the war games. Basically just about any game that is produced in the North America market is available.
Huge store, wide selection, quiet and clean. They insist on ‘coat-checking’ any bags your bring in though.
