Arkham Horror
When players draw an Encounter Card (or in Another World) they often just read it. I make other players sleepy. Better to narrate it with own words and include roll results.
Let’s see two kind of styles. Player draws a card and reads:
“You are in the forest and hear something strange. Make Luck (-1) test. If success you find a guy burying some chest. When he leave you find 2 Common Items.” – player rolls 3 – “I could not find it.”
And the second narrating style:
“After hours of pointless walking within the forest I hear something…” – player rolls 3 – “Naaah, that’s nothing, my fatigued cheats me – that’s only some leaves on wind. I am going ahead.”
