Ascending Empires
In my experience, many players forget about the mining action because they get focused on that new technology or colony they really want to build. Mining is an easy way to grab a few victory points, especially if the pile is running low and you want to see the game end soon while you have an advantage. I’ve also used it in a game where other players shut down some of my other strategies, and was able to make a comeback for the win. It becomes especially useful if you pair it with the techs that give you more soldiers when recruiting.
