I would rather recommend the second expansion other than this one.

The goods feel a bit random, since having luck in the draw can give you 10 or 20 more points (there are so few cloth tiles that the winner will be whoever has more luck and gets the card to close the city). Also, adding so many tiles extends the length of the game.

The builder meeple is a nice addition, but I do not think it is worth the price

This is in my opinion the best expansion (see my reviews of the other expansions).

The rules are very simple and follow the theme of the original game. You can use cathedrals and inns to either (1) score more yourself or (2) put it in your opponent’s field as an attack. I do not know of any other expansion that allows that in just one rule.

The big meeple is a nice idea, but I recommend you play with one less small one (otherwise the meeple shortage problem disappears).

Finally, adding a sixth player is cool, but I do not recommend it. The game gets too long and you have little influence on the size of the city.

Adding the new leaders makes the game much more deep. Really recommended if you like the original game!

The only complain is that rome (side B) is too weak. If you manage to get the carnavessail (can generate any single complex resource per turn) you get two build your stages of the wonder, which are very good. Otherwise building them becomes too expensive and you will probably have to skip them

The idea of the game is nice, but once you have seen the cards go by once or twice, they become quite boring. Added to the fact that there is no kind of strategy, and it is mostly luck dependent….it loses all the appeal the theme might have.

This is the kind of game that I like when some of my friends have it, and is fun to play once in a looong while, but I would never buy it myself.

Not very interesting unless you like rolling dice without purpose. It feels to me like a simple exercise of statistics with no fun at all

I cannot recommend this game to regular boardgamers. It probably is a lot of fun for kids, and people who love haggling/trading games, but I doubt it will please a group of friends that meet and play boardgames regularly.

The rules are too simple, with no depth (get many cards of the same type and win), which just leaves us with a “whoever can do more trades wins”-type of game, which is not our cup of tea.
