This has it all. Multiple viable victory conditions. Superb balancing. Innovative, easy to learn combat. Plus Rules that are easy to learn and quick to teach. For 50 bucks you get the best CIV game the world has seen so far. In Germany you can pick this up for 36€. For that kind of money you oughta buy two and gift it to a relative, just because it is so awesome.

This is practically needed. It is this expansion that perfects this game.

War game wise this game has it all. Combat is surprising and strategic. Don’t get fooled by its mechanics that make it seem random.

Economic gameplay that is rewarding and fun. Plays quicker than its rivals.

No game of AH is complete without IH. The personal quests alone are a welcome roleplay-y addition. And yet, IH keeps giving and giving. BUT: Be prepared to loose alot.

A mixed bag. Horrible with 4. Barely acceptable with 3; with needlessly obtuse ship-to-ship combat. Still the best pirate game out there. Isn’t that sad?

This could’ve been awesome. An instant classic. Fiddly rules and limited replayability (with a hideous way of expanding the game with print-on-demand rather than a solid expansion -mini or otherwise) made this game only scratch at the ceiling of greatness.

This is the gateway game to go. With the added randomness of tunnels it provides a strong offering for every type of gamer in the family.

Rules are easy to understand and yet downtime with 3+ players can be enormous for what it wants to be. 2player it shines.

This is by far the best co-op gaming has to offer. Theme. Gameplay. Roleplay. If you can get over the steep learning curve – and the innumerable rules questions. This is a gamer’s game.
