Uno is easy enough to whip out at any time with almost any group of people. The more, the merrier. The best version of Uno to play, in my opinion, is Nintendo Uno, where the special Power card blocks all Draw 2 and Draw 4 cards coming to whoever plays it. It’s a great game that’s given a lot of great memories to me in the past and soon in the future, for sure.

Fluxx is a great card game for those who can grasp it. The game’s basic premise is that the rules, the game flow and the end goal of the game can (and does) change at any given time. With a relatively bright crowd, one practice game is enough to hook ’em and get ’em going. I’ve found that for some people, the entire premise of the game is a little too abstract and takes longer to figure out. The learning curve is well worth the reward of a fun, unpredictable game.

When I suggest to my friends that we play Monopoly, most cringe, run or set things on fire. When I suggest Monopoly Deal, however, people shout in delight. Monopoly Deal has a great combination of individual skill and group sabotage that makes for a fun game. It’s easy to learn, it’s fun to play and it’s fun to keep playing.
