Meta-Games Unlimited has been a family gaming establishment since 1997. In our 17 years and running we have expanded our store from a 700 square foot hole in the wall on Chestnut, to the premiere gaming spot in the four states. Our 10,000 square foot facilities boast a 3000 square foot open gaming area with a computer LAN room and designated tables for great games such as Warhammer40K and Fantasy. Meta-Games has hosted some of gaming’s top events, such as Pro-Tour Qualifiers for Magic the Gathering, 40K rouge traders, Yu-gi-oh regionals, great D&D game days and much more. We have been a proud supporter of our community since the day we flipped our first open sign. MetaGames is a large store with a wide variety of geek outlets. They operate a little heavily in the CCGs (a night for Magic, Pokemon, Yugi-oh, etc almost every night is dedicated to them), but I guess that’s what’s most popular in the area. Most of the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
I usually feel geeky for going into a game store, but when I see the people here I feel less so. I’m also usually the only girl so I often feel like all eyes are on me!
MetaGames has great variety and the staff is nice and they seem to know their stuff!
I shopped at MetaGames frequently when I lived in Springfield or Joplin but now that I live in PA, I only get there once every few years. MetaGames is still one the best game stores I’ve ever been to! Clean, well-stocked, with knowledgeable game staff, plenty of leagues for CCGs, Miniature games and RPGs, I can’t say enough about how great a store it is!
