Exoplanets – Build Your Own Planetary System

In Exoplanets, players do not execute actions on a board or on specially laid out cards. The game revolves around a Star located in the center, which is the core of the budding planetary system. The game begins with Planets on each of its four sides, which are known to players and which have already been created in the system before the players start their creation process.

About Exoplanets

Space — a place of extraordinary phenomena, interdependencies that have existed for an eternity, and mechanisms which have not yet been fully identified. A mysterious place which sometimes causes fear and trepidation due to its magnitude, but is always fascinating. This time the cosmos became our inspiration. Thatʼs why weʼd like to invite you to have fun with us and participate in the project of publishing the game in which everyone becomes a co-creator of cosmos – Exoplanets.

Your task will be to develop a planetary system located in a galaxy far, far away.

You donʼt know the rules for creation of planetary systems? You donʼt have any scientific knowledge about the universe? Donʼt worry about it! Weʼve developed Exoplanets in a way which allows us to introduce you to the collective fun and creation of an extraordinary world in a pleasant and not too serious way.

What's the game?

Exoplanets is a dynamic game for 2–4 players in which you, in conjunction with the other players, direct the processes of planetary system creation. You will make decisions about the distribution of planets, obtained particles (resources), their further use, and the resulting creation and evolution of life. While developing the solar system, you will obtain space tiles which allow you to influence planets and possibly make the game easier for yourself or more difficult for your opponents.

All activities and decisions you make will have an influence on the entire system, i.e. they shape the conditions in which all players will operate. This means that each decision has consequences and creates various interactions and interdependencies. The gameplay, which in this case is the creation process, goes on until the life-giving star energy is depleted. The star and the created system will still exist, however the forces of creation represented by the players end their work and may start exploring subsequent galaxies in the search for other, young stars and the immeasurable creation opportunities connected with them. This is an elaborate way of saying the game is over and now you can play again!

Game objective

You win by having the most Creation Points after the star is depleted. Points are gained for the creation and development of life on planets and for the execution of goals that you select for yourself and will be unique to you. In order to win, you will create life on planets, evolve that life into new species, manipulate the planetary system, activate effects which will change the structure of planets, and create special reactions within the orbit of their shared, life-giving star.
