This is one of the best fillers out there! This derives mainly from two factors of the game: It’s fast (30 minutes) and the playing time doesn’t vary significantly by player amount. Meaning that 3 player and 7 player games play in about that 30 minutes. Table space requirements will vary!
The big box limits its portability though.
It is a very streamlined card drafting game. You receive a hand of cards, choose the optimum card/play, and pass the cards. Their is no discussion, negotiation, of any sort at any time while playing the game. Bone dry.
Love it. Its so hard to find great games that play fast and can fit 7 players!
Quick. Easy to explain and learn. Great opening to a board gaming night.
It is the best game to pull out of the box and show anyone how to play quick. And the ability to accomadate 7 players is a bonus.
Non-brainburner and easy to follow for the newbies. With the addition of Leaders, there is more to love. It’s kinda luck of the draw kinda game, so the newer players can win over an experienced player every once and a while.
I really like the drafting aspect to this game. One of the many games that I keep coming back to.
My family loves it!
Easy fast game thats great filler for game groups. I wouldn’t call it a gateway game though by any means.
Easy to learn, quick and for 7 people. Just play it!
Just doesn’t do it for me. How many times am I shorted by one resource I can’t get all game. I never see the card not my neighbors…It’s OK but not top tier…
I don’t see why everyone gushes over this math exercise disguised as a game. There is no soul to this game, and absolutely no interaction with any other players.
If you have Dominion or Race for the Galaxy, you don’t. If you lack those two than maybe this is the one for you. The mechanic is not quite the same but how much money and time you have will determine if “you really need this.”
