What are you playing this weekend? (Sep 4)

A table-sprawling shipment of Rum & Bones received this week will be taking most of our attention this weekend. So much stuff for only 4 factions! Outside of that we’ll probably get to Steampunk Rally, but that may be it.

What are you playing this weekend?

@JAY I’m glad you had a nice birthday and got to add to the Cardboard Tower – especially expanding the Star Realms as I know you like that one 🙂

Finally, I forgot to report back in…

@Hai, thanks for the well wishes.

What I got for my birthday was HomeStretch and But Wait’s there more. Both are really fun and light. With my birthday money, I got Castles of Mad King Ludwig (awesome), Trains 2: Rising Sun, and more Star Realms expansions… woohoo!. Another present, was getting my wife to learn Splendor which she absolutely loved! Woohoo! It was a good birthday!

From beach to class to…

@Stratagon HIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beach wifi was being super spotty – so I missed the Epic Quiz. Knew the obvious 3 and Shakespeare in Love Letter 😛 but would not have gotten Spectre Ops without digging.

@SP Thanks for your thoughts! I may stick with the analytical side for now.

@Stratagon we own both and play both. I like them for different reasons; where Suburbia really plays to my analytical mind, Castles taps into more creativity. They are both puzzles with goals, but your ability to interact with other players is different, and point-management is entirely different. They have their similarities but they are not so similar as to be replacements for one another, in my opinion.

Yep I’ll try to be faster next time

Congrats to Inmarg an SP (no need to share your victory, no pity for second place)

@SP Correct on both! It was indeed Epic, as always. I keep going back and forth on whether I should get Castles of…. Is it different enough from Suburbia for me to justify owning it. My collection is reaching a point where many of the games I own are not even seeing table time anymore.

@Lone Token I have to go with the BGDot Servers as my photo finish source. But you can have Honorable Mention status, since you figured them out also. You will be fastest next time!

@ Stratagon

With you answer to Inmarg, my guess for #5 would be Specter Ops

And my guess for #2 is Council of Verona

@ stratagon
2 – Council of Verona
5 – Spectre Ops

??

Either way sounds like a great Epic Game Day!

We played some Castles of Mad King Ludwig, paired Fluxx Dice with Batman Fluxx, and played the first scenario of Mice and Mystics.

As always a wide variety. Batman Fluxx, Splendor, Exploding Kittens and Keyflower with both expansions.

@ inmarg

1, 3 and 4 are correct! (Hai will be disappointed she missed out on a Hive answer.)

5 is on the right track.

Need somebody to figure out these last two…

@ stratagon

I’ll take a guess at some of those

1) Still haven’t played it but my best bet would be [redacted]
2) Not sure but I’ll guess Luna?
3) Finally one I’m sure of; Hive
4) Pretty sure this is Tash Kalar
5) Seems like Whitechapel, Dracula kind of game but I’ll leave this one to someone else… 😉

Introduced Pay Dirt to me Dad a few months a go, and he just purchased a copy for home self. Went over to play with him, Mom, my cousin and his wife. I am glad that my Dad enjoys this medium weight game, but I don’t think the girls had a good time. 🙁
