Played lots and lots of Dungeons & Dragons: Attack Wing! It has quickly become one of my favorite games. It’s the first FlightPath game I’ve played and I love it! The scenarios that come with every expansion are unique and help with developing advanced strategies, AND there’s a campaign mode! All good things. 🙂
I played Mice and Mystics yesterday. I was busy the rest of this weekend and today getting ready to go to BGGCon for 5 days of board and card playing. I will post reviews on some of the new games after I get back and have rested up.
Not much this weekend, since we were helping out with a church fundraiser event all day Saturday and then catching up on work around the house the next day.
Practicing / learning with Illustrator making game bits for fun… Sunday I will bring a pile of games with me that may or may not get played: Bang! The Dice Game, King of Tokyo, Primordial Soup, and Flash Point seem likely.
just got arcadia quest in the mail. mad i didn’t know about the kickstarter and missed out on half of the heroes. almost made me not buy the game at all. then i watched the dicetower review, and decided that some awesomeness is better than no awesomeness. seems like a bunch of fun, now i just gotta find some people to play.
@Account and @Stratagon Danke for the Birthday Wishery 🙂
@inmarg Enjoy Con Life! 🙂 Sounds like you are having plenty of fun already!
@Account Enjoy the Skullcles. It is the better of the two as it is more varied in adventures. They seemed to be finding their feet with Runelords (although it isn’t bad at all IMHO) and took the idea to the next level in Skullcles. Of course – you don’t have to buy everything at once (aside from the Character Deck) – you only need the adventure chapter decks as you reach them. 😉 It is an interesting mix of loot and campaign RPG meets boardless co-op boardgaming. My best advice is to play through the 3 starter quests as a dry run – switching characters every time (but giving the fresh faces the adventure boon) to get a feel for the different characters/play styles and then when everybody has the gist – reboot and start from square one with your perm choices to begin a campaign. It is definitely a game that benefits from a dedicated group (much like an RPG – you set aside gathering times to play.)
Of course, if it becomes your bag – I highly recommend the next level with the Class Decks from Paizo and the Pathfinder Card Society Scenarios. (The Boy bought all the Class Decks on a binge. The alt characters are very nifty. Also you can run them through the standard Skullcles game). We haven’t started dedicated Elite Play yet, but we’ve downloaded the first chapter pack PDF and I flipped through it. The Society Scenarios are very rich and complicated introducing alt rules and set-ups.
Let me know how it goes! 🙂
(P.S. We haven’t cracked a win on The Captain is Dead yet either ;))
On a whim I just bought everything there is for Pathfinder ACG: Skull and Shackles. I’m not quite sure why… I never really had a desire to play Rise of the Runelords, but S&S seems to be better liked. We’ll see how that goes over the weekend.
I’m still trying to crack The Captain is Dead as well. I know I’ve said it before, but this is the hardest co-op I’ve played. My best game is just 3 of the 5 repairs necessary to win.
I am at a gaming event in Stavanger. Till now I have played:
Thursday:
Gaia
Red 7
Nodwick, the card game
Pandemic: the Cure
Snorta
Sushi dice
Mamma Mia
Diamonds
Friday:
Stone Age
Machi Koro
Russian Railroads
Terra Mystica
I’ll be taking on Arkham Horror: Kingsport Horror with a group of friends and hopefully we don’t eat it too hard. Maybe throw a round of Space Cadets if I can get my hands on it.

We played Citadels for the first time and it was a real treat. Also, a number of games of 7 Wonders. I hope they release 7 Wonders: Babel soon!
Shipwrights of the North Seas, XMen Dice Masters, and probably Xia. Looks to be a good weekend.
HBD @Hai!
Not sure what gaming will take place — several regulars are AWOL this weekend. Plenty of options depending on who can and does appear.
