We’ve been pleasantly surprised with the upcoming Uncharted: Board Game and will be playing it some more this weekend in preparation for a full review. It might better be called “Uncharted: The Card Game that includes a Board to Help You Play”, but that would have been too long of a title. Yet maybe not for Bandai, take for example their title for the game Star Trek Deck Building Game: The Next Generation – Next Phase. I’ll let you be the judge
What will you be playing to start the month of June?

I will be playing Dungeon Run with my boys. My oldest wants to play Omen: Reign of War with the new expansion we just received from Kickstarter. My friends want to get together for another few games of Risk: Legacy, and I think we’ll break out Eclipse as well. I’m not sure if I’ll have time for anything else… but that should suffice.
BTW Does Uncharted capture the flavor of the video game at all? I think that’s one of the best franchises out there. I’m looking forward to being completely disappointed by the movie as well.
@Granny, I’ve played all three of the Uncharted video games, and I’ve got mixed feelings so far on whether the card game captures the flavor. Currently my biggest gripe is that there are so many fun and iconic bad guys in the video games, yet the enemies in the card game are very generic. Most of them are nameless foot soldiers.
That being said, so far we’re really enjoying the gameplay. Bandai took queues from video games like having different difficulty levels as well as rule variants that include multiplayer deathmatch where there is more emphasis on attacking other players, and a survival variant where players cooperate while fighting waves of enemies.
We have an extra long, four day weekend coming up due to the spring bank holiday (which would normally have been last weekend) combined with the Queen’s jubilee holiday. For much of the weekend we’ll be running around doing morris dancing and stuff, but there’ll certainly be some gaming squeezed in. The main aim is to introduce the wife to Elder Sign, which I think she’ll like. Other than that, Coloretto and Sleeping Queens are rapidly becoming favourites for my daughter, and I reckon we should be able to fit in some Castle Panic and/or Carcassonne.
I was hoping to have gotten Infiltration by now, but it still hasn’t reached my store (soon, though, it seems). Having finally got the sixth Shadow of Mirkwood adventure pack for the Lord of the Rings LCG, though, I’m probably going to run through that quest a bit and then try to successfully tackle one of the Khazad-dum quests.
Whatever I can find at Origins!
If I can persuade my partner and her sister, I will get out Discworld Ankh-Morpork on Saturday night as both are fans of the setting.
Plus this Sunday is Afternoon Play #20 here in Birmingham. I will have a copy of the new version of The Big Idea to try out, and I will be taking along German Railways too.
Arkham Horror again!
Now with Dunwich, Kingsport and Dark Pharaoh revised.
Probably nothing. I’m doing volunteer work and then running a 10k. Sad! I do hope to work on some of my own stuff. How are people liking Omen? I’m on the fence about that one.
My sister and husband are coming to town so Im sure we’ll break out some games Sat. night after a trip to the zoo. Maybe some pandemic and quarriors.
